“Quiet”

“My husband and I stayed there as we moved our son out of his college dorm. The hotel was not that far from his college and by a plaza that had everything. The room was decent and clean, as was the bathroom. The lobby of the hotel was clean, and the Starbucks cafe downstairs was nice for a quick breakfast grab. The snack section next to the reception desk was our go-to at night. I would definitely stay here again. ”

“Nice place self check in ..only issue was strong smell of cleaning supplies. All else was ok clean and neat”

“Very cute spot! Lake was beautiful. Close for Ubering to and from Salem which is why we were there. There seemed to be a miscommunication on allowing us to check in early, however, bc when we arrived dirty towels were still in a pile on the bathroom and the bed sheets were used. Not a huge deal, we stripped the bed ourselves and added new sheets and cleaning crew came around 45 minutes before “normal” check in and did the rest. Also was pretty cold at night and in early morning and unsure how……

“23:00 fire alarm rings, everybody rushed out! Then the next morning 7:30 fire alarm rings again. But the hotel didn’t give any explanations!”

“Walking distance to cafes, bars and restaurants; short drive to Salem, Gloucester, Manchester and Rockport; rooms designed for optimum use of space- small but spotless and newly renovated with comfortable king size beds. I could find no fault with this accommodation - modern rooms, spacious bathroom and immaculate. ”

“Place was amazing, second time staying there and place is always super clean. Great staff, free washer and dryer to use. Kitchen was filled with untensils definitely a top stay for sure. Close to malls and alot of stores. Great place 10\10 for me. 🙌🙌.”

“I enjoyed my stay at The Hawthorne Hotel. The proximity to a lovely green walkable space The Common was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff is very nice, the food at the Tavern and Nathaniel’s was outstanding! Blueberry pancakes = delicious! A few items that could be improved: the entry doors could be refreshed / cleaned well. The bed pillows could also use a refresh. Overall though a wonderful stay in a historic hotel. ”

“We had a great time staying in Salem for our daughter's graduation from Endicott College. Great location to get to Beverly and downtown Salem.”

“The hotel itself is very clean and in a great walkable area. Close to a number of good restaurants and great bars. Even a few secret spots if you know who to ask. The only problem I had was with the front desk announcing my room number in the lobby. That should NEVER be done for safety reasons, especially as a sometimes solo traveler. Please address this with the staff. If you have written it down on the key card it doesn't need to be said out loud.”
