Someone drove by in a black truck and threw an egg at me, my daughter, and son in law. I don't know who they were targeting, or why we were targeted, don't know if we were being racially profiled, but they won't stop us from going back

I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, but our stay here was perfect. We opted for a room with a jetted tub which was great after two long days of hiking (though one person complained that the jets weren't powerful enough.) The room was clean and the grounds were well maintained. Sound was not an issue, but the door doesn't block sound that well so it's possible to hear people coming and going from their rooms within the courtyard quite easily. On the other hand, we were serenaded by the frogs in the koi pond every night. The outdoor hot tub was closed for maintenance, but the indoor hot tub was open. Pool closes at 9pm so by the time we were at our room each night, it was already closed, but that's why we got the room with the tub. The area around the hotel and the parking lot did not seem unsafe in any way. I rarely saw anyone who wasn't a hotel guest when I looked out the window. Our room had a sliding door that looked out onto the adjacent street and it wasn't an issue. Oh, one minor complaint - the TV had motion smoothing enabled on every channel so all the movies looked like soap operas. TV was basically unwatchable. Should be disabled but there's no way to adjust the menu settings.

What a pretty property! Beautiful gardens, koi pond and hot tub. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. Basic breakfast is provided. Also there is a decent sized refrigerator with a freezer.

I was given a back room and refused it because it’s very unsafe. Insisted and it took a while to convince clerk that as a single woman, it was not safe for me to be where he had put me.

The property was utilitarian in a less than desirable area. The beds were not comfortable and the toilet did not work probably. The staff for the most part were friendly and supportive. Breakfast was included and my traveling party said they enjoy it. The property was near the zoo which has the Redwood Sky Walk. It is also about a 30 minute drive to the Avenue of the Giants which was breathtaking and a must see. We were there to see the redwoods and that did not disappoint but the lodging in the area will not nearly match this experience.
