This was a great choice to stay in. Beautiful entrance, beautiful garden, beautiful ocean view, large ground floor patio and huge inviting lobby with plenty of plugs for electronics. Just watch out for those timeshare pushers like noa excursions, transportions and such.

Liked the look and thats about it. View was a partial ocean view sold as a ocean view. Was noisy until about 10pm from across the road. “Resort fee” was $40 usd - approx $60 aud for a single night. Only a few workers were hospitable. Would stay elsewhere for less in a better spot in future.

The location was very good. It was within walking distance to the Ala Moana Shopping Mall. Maybe because the room had carpeting, or was it the bed? I was bitten by mites in several places and it was itchy, so I moved to the other bed to cope.

It's an old hotel being built in 1964. Our room was spacious and the ac worked well to combat the heat and humidity. There was no daily house cleaning and we had to ask for fresh towels. Valet parking was $45/night with in/out privileges. That's steep on top of tipping attendant each time you retrieve car. Location of hotel is convenient for walking to Ala Moana center and to Waikiki.

The surfaces in the kitchen and table were grimy and there were gas splinters in the carpet. I had a splinter in my foot. The front desk did respond unenthusiastically when I reported this accident.

The Ilikai was very centrally located for honolulu, and the valet parking was convenient. This is a very old hotel that could use some updating the pool was slippery and frankly a wee bit dangerous, it could easily be fixed. The room was clean and nice but there were not enough pots and utensils to cook with. My only other complaints were we were unable to move the pool chairs to accommodate the 4 of us, and the front desk lady had an overly large attitude. I don't think we will stay there again it definitely wasn't worth the money.

Overall staff was nice. One receptionist was informed about TV not working, but no action taken until we checked out. I liked the suite view and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to our family and friends.

We had a great stay at Illakai! The staff was very accommodating and we loved being able to use our free ice cream vouchers. Walking distant to beach and fun activities.
