I’ve stayed at a Finest resort 3 times and my last trip was 10 months ago in the Dominican Republic. I’m well aware of what the hotel chain can be and what it has offered in terms of service and amenities in the past. This is my second time at this very location. Let’s break this down with “the good, the bad, and the ugly” format.
The good: friendly and timely service at the pools and the restaurants, clean rooms and turndown service. Great beach and gym area. Beautiful grounds. Celebrated my wife’s 40th and the restaurant staff helped me decorate her dinner party and make it special.
The bad: took over an hour and me walking back to front desk to get our bags (that were still out by the curb) carried to our room. Resort is doing some renovations so could not take advantage of the platinum membership perks of room upgrade. An airport transportation service through the hotel (Season’s) was mistakenly placed on my room and despite numerous attempts to get the error fixed, the hotel forced me to pay it or I couldn’t leave the resort with my third party transportation waiting outside and my family in the van. Literally, held against my will unless i paid for the service i did not receive. I received a call from concierge services saying that they had a surprise for my wife and they will be around the room around 1730 and no gift was ever received in our room.
The ugly:
Shower floor had large crack, patio door was broken, pool tiles missing and resort was a bit “worn out”
