"Staff very friendly, Mexican and Italian restaurant very good, excellent room cleaning, swimming pool very good, access to beach very good, walkable distance to 5ta Avenida. Just a couple of suggestions; close the snack bar late, we were looking for coffee around 11.0 pm and there was no place where to get it, and find a way to keep some of the food warm at the buffet, a couple of times we got cold food, other than that, it was a very good experience. "

"Had a great trip to Mexico, hotel was clean, pools were great. Not all the entertainment was for me but lots of variety for everyone, games, activities, shows and music. My real negative with the Viva Maya was with the staff. Check in was slow 2 desks working, lots of paperwork and questions. Sadly I had an awful interaction with 2 of the staff Antonio and Meses. I really needed assistance one afternoon both were really unhelpful and rude. Antonio was threw his arms up at me and Meses told me...

Not a lot of food options, hard to get into restaurants and the buffet food was not good. Had issues with AC in one of the rooms the first two days, got up to 86 degrees. Wish the resort had transportation options since there was limited dining. We had to get a taxi and go into town to get some food. Overall staff was great and facility was nice.

The place needs a makeover it hasn’t changed in 10 years , the decorations in the room are still the same , no electrical outlet next to the bed . They need to remove the peacocks there loud and the wake you up in the morning and you can’t take a nap in the afternoon they never stop squawking. I’ve been here 7 times but this is the last until they change.

We had a wonderful stay at Riu Palace Riviera Maya! The staff was great, everyone was extremely quick to give us great service and met all of our needs well! The employees made sure we had a great time! The one down side was the food. It was not terrible, just really subpar. Breakfast and lunch were decent. It was all tolerable but we found ourselves traveling off the resort to get dinner.

The staff is what made this property more than wonderful! Every single staff member was so kind & attentive. Loved each one. Also so clean our room the whole hotel. Food was great. Definitely recommend
