Simply Terrible, and mo exaggeration!

Posted Apr 17, 2015
Regardless to the bad location of the Britannia hotel, during our stay in the hotel and only for one night we expirinced the following: 1. We were booked in a room which was already accupied by a resident working ar the hotel. The room had not a single window 2. Likely we were moved to another room in the fourth floor. With no upgrade or apology about the embbersing mistake 3. Even though the Wi-Fi was Free, it never connected to our divices, bisaclly free wi-fi was a lie 4. Toielt was broken. 5. The beds were full of hair 6. In the morning. Around 9 am that was another story, the fier alarm kept on going off for testing proupses . Even though it wasn't friday, when the regulary test it. 7. And final disaster was the left we carried two big suitcases me and my senior dad all the way down to the reciption cause the left wasn't working and the staff never responded to our requist for a help. After all that all we got as an apology for this faluer is the word "sorry!" Now you can decided yourself wither the hotel is worth £85 for one horrible night ?

Expérience cauchemardesque

Posted Apr 1, 2015

Only if it's the last choice

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Hole in carpet covered with duct tape . Sink blocked , bath side panel held together with tape no internet staff not bothered in the slightest even after three days of mentioning. Cleaning staff did a great job room was tidied every day and did the best in a poor damp stuffy Tired worn out room . Food was dreadful when ordering a steak pie with broccoli and new potates it was served as stew with puff pastry stuck on with sweet corn/carrots and croquets !!! Charged me £15!!! Shocking . Chicken curry turned up as lamb curry no one was in the slightest bit bothered I stayed here 4 years ago and it was good but unfortunately after this visit will not stop again at £80 per night.

Can not recommend anything about this hotel

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything. The building from outside and inside, staff attitude at the reception and so on.
Location: Nothing.
Could not wait to check out next day. Unpleasant building, room with a light not working, leaky/soiled Toilet pipe, noisy radiator, reception staff with attitude. Only staff in the breakfast area were friendly.

One of the worst... No the worst hotel i have ever stayed in, this place needs bulldozing and starting again. Stained mattreses, pubic hairs in toilet, mould on bathroom roof, wallpaper peeling and a host more. Avoid at all costs.

Worst hotel ever

Posted Feb 5, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
Reception was a mess and entrance was not clearly marked. Really everything in the hotel was a mess and would benefit from being knocked down. Room was cold and bedding smelt damp.

Victorian

Posted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: cheap
Cons: decor, furniture, cleanliness
Location: carvery just up the road. Not much else.
Victorian furniture, dull decor, room not vaccuumed, huge pot holes to both car park entrances. Also undergoing major building works but can't see what improvement it would make. OK for a cheap night but wouldn't take your better half!
