Economy Hotel with Economy Experience

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: It was warm and there was free shuttle to the airport.
Cons: It's an old hotel and it was unexpected that my room was in a different building.
My sister booked a room for me and my daughter for our last night visiting Alaska because of its location to the airport plus it provides free shuttle. Our room was in The Chandler which is around the other side of the brown building directly across from the main hotel and lobby. Yeah, I was a little confused, too. The room was small the linens and towels were clean. The carpet could use a heavy duty cleaning or be replaced. It was a dark blue but you could still see stains. The one thing that was annoying was that there was a desk in the room but not one pen could be found! I'm sure it was an oversight but still not good. The women at the front desk were polite and my wake up call was sufficient. This was a spur of the moment booking with a very reasonable rate so I can only expect so much. For a budget hotel, it wasn't the worst but I wouldn't stay there again.

Noisy!

Posted Dec 1, 2014
The room was extremely noisy, but not so much because of traffic noise but because of the neighbors in the next room. Between the hours of 5 - 7 pm I think I counted the door slamming about 30 times. If you need to get rest at night, this is NOT the place to stay.

Fine hotel close to Anchorage Airport and downtown

Posted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: Location and comfortable rooms and bed and good continental breakfast
Cons: They have a good selection of TV channels but, for some reason, did not have Sy-Fy (which I wanted to watch at that time), so, would recommend it.
Location: Close to the airport and downtown, fast-food and a couple of other restaurants nearby, small grocery at a Tesoro gas station next door.
I had a comfortable stay here. It is within a mile of Anchorage Airport and ten minutes to downtown. There are a couple of small grocery stores in the area and Wendy's and McDonald's and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Puffin Inn has several buildings and I was in one of those. Very comfortable rooms and a good continental breakfast is included in the price. You can get good room rates if you do it online. I plan to stay there again two-three days this coming week. I do recommend this place to others.

way too old

Posted Sep 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is a very old place and the rooms are definitely showing the wear & tear. The room was on the third floor and no elevator, Nice large flat screen tv NO remote control, the walls need repainting. The parking lot was much too small for the number of rooms

Pros: great room
Cons: nothing
Location: only there a day passing through from Dillingham on my way back to the US east coast, did not really do anything while I was there.
only a short one day stay at Puffin in, but it was great. People great and helpful, hotel very comfortable and very reasonably priced. Much better than other area hotels that were more expensive

I was there overnight only, the room had small fridge, microwave, and 2 burner cooktop. , however the carpet was dirty, dried juice on the night stand. The location was good, several restaurants within walking distance. low low setting toilet, not good for handicapped. Was in the Annex.

Liked the pet-friendly environment and convenient location. Room was available early but had not been cleaned well, trash from a previous guest was found in the cupboards.
