Older place, amazing location. The room needed vacuuming, the bathroom floor had hair all over, the linens on one bed had stains. The room was in need of maintenance. What made up for it - The location was amazing, walkable, and super safe.

The property is well located, old but clean and the rooms are OK. The staff at the front desk was cordial and helpful. The issue I had was with the water heater that was broken one of the days I stayed and I had to take a cold bath early in the morning. The hotel did nothing about it, after several attempts to talk to the manager in person, phone calls later or emails. I haven’t received a reply yet. Not good management…

I’d been in this hotel 30 years earlier and found it outstanding. It’s still cute and with a great, kind staff. But the property shows its age. The rooms have been renewed, the bathrooms still look the same. The unbeatable upside is the location, right on a quiet beach.

We liked the location. The facility is run down, cheaply furnished. The entire facility had NO HOT WATER the morning we checked out. The staff were unapologetic. I asked about a rebate and have heard nothing.

Pretty basic property. "Breakfast" as advertised was a bottle of instant coffee. Room repair adequate, just. Hot water in my room was 5 minutes away. Wonderful location, served my needs, but if you are looking for something comfortable beyond a clean bed, this might not be it.

The staff were great at this property and made sure to make up our room , upon request at the front desk. Downside was your doorsign saying “make up room” left on your door is not enough. You got to tell the front desk receptionist.

Other than a coat of paint, this hotel is stuck in 1970. The facilities and amenities are old and cheap. Thank goodness for the view of the marina and beach area. You’re getting what you pay for here.

Room was okay, pretty motel-vibe. Our room had a view of the side alley that was frequently used by staff, it was loud and we had to keep the curtains closed. The sink and bathtub didn’t drain, water backed up right away. It was disappointing. Staff was nice and there was a microwave and mini fridge in the room. We also didn’t have to pay for the parking which was nice.

While the staff was friendly and the location was nice the room was gross feeling. Toilet paper roll broken, hardly any light, the mini fridge wasn’t working when we first got there so we couldn’t keep our food cold, wood around back patio was scratched as if there was a dog who tried to get out. The decor was super outdated. The pictures online were nothing like the room it seemed.

I love the Foghorn Inn and stay there every time I come to LA for the film business. Beautiful view and amazing location at the lowest price in the area. The motel is older but well maintained. I wish they would update a few things but with over 20 trips to the city, I don't know a better place for the money.

I've always wanted to go to Marina Del Rey! The Foghorn Harbor Inn has been around since the 1960's. It is a staple here. It's right on the beach & clean. The staff here are EXCELLENT, HELPFUL, & FRIENDLY. Thank you For a Wonderful Stopover! Trina Grant of S.C.

They don't give you a key to your room. You have to go to the desk and ask. We never left the room empty. Couldn't go do anything because i don't trust people like that.

Did not have hot water in the morning to take a shower. Was attending a funeral and did not shower , water was super cold being near the beach. No cable tv , random channel. Don’t care about the tv but not being able to shower didn’t make my wife happy. Reception did not really care , tough luck . Was expecting a call from the manager but they never called .

Bad hotel.
Hotel has great view, in a good location and large rooms and the staff are friendly. …. But the hotel is unacceptable. Black mildew on shower curtain, cigarette butts and debris on balcony, no hot water at all for the two nights we stayed, neither morning or evening. broken side of bed, no hand towels, no tissues and 1/2 toilet roll, rust inside microwave and fridge iced up. Paid $80 extra for “superior room” but they had double booked. Asked the manager for a refund of the difference which was promised but never happened. Then when we asked to speak to him, we were told that “He doesn't work weekends”. We have stayed in many similar priced hotels but this is the worst. Sad as it has great potential.
