Budget motel that needs some TLCPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Cool concept.
Cons: The shower pressure was too weak. Clean the carpet! Replace the sink!
This small motel has potential, but needs some TLC. The concept is cool, but it lacks anything that could make it comfortable. There were multiple large stains on the carpet to greet us when we opened the door. The shower pressure from the ceiling shower was so minimal that I had trouble washing the soap out of my hair. The sink was ridiculous -- a large square vessel about 2 inches deep that wasn't angled toward the drain, so your dirty water just sat in the sink. Bed was decent but pillows were so fluffy they had no support. It was supposed to be a queen bed, but was only a full. Fine for one night, but wouldn't recommend it for more than that. Overpriced for what you got.

Fun placePosted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: We really like the way they had kept the mid-century vibe but updated everything so it was very comfortable.
Cons: Although not a problem for us, guest should be aware that there is not elevator to the second floor. Also, no refrigerator in our room.
Location: Easy walk to downtown.
We stayed here one night and enjoyed the retro vibe. The rooms have been updated with flat screen tvs, and modern bath fixtures. The courtyard has a nice seating area with fire pits and nice lighting. The bar and restaurant were quite good as was the breakfast. Best hotel coffee we've had on the road.

Travelodge with an Edgy Band-aid.Posted Jul 21, 2014
Meh...scratch the surface and this really is nothing more than a snazzed up Travelodge now dog-earred. Ridiculous sink, tiny room and the Eco-toiletries (conditioner) smelled rank. Room really dark and dank. Not worth the boutique price.

FOR AGE 21 AND ABOVEPosted Jul 14, 2014
Expedia showed a minimum check in age of 18, but when my 18 year old showed up with a room that was paid for, she was not allowed to check in and was told my Expedia account would be credited ASAP. Thanks, but my daughter on her first ALONE trip had to drain her debit account for a different hotel for two nights, which left her no money for the weekend. TOTAL INCONVENIENCE!

A Real Find In Biose, IdahoPosted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Location, Room Comfort, good WiFi, Friendly Staff, Free Parking
Cons: Nothing really. It is exactly as advertised.
Location: On the western side of the downtown area, close walking distance from an area with shops, restaurants, bars and coffee houses.
We stayed at the Modern Hotel just one night while passing through Boise, but we were very pleasantly surprised with both the Modern Hotel and with Boise. The Modern Hotel is a restored and made better old Travelodge in downtown Boise. It's been brought into the 21st Century with modern amenities like flat screen TV's with premium channels, complimentary WiFi, king sized beds, large tiled showers where the bathtubs used to be, and a patio with fire pits where the small square swimming pool used to be, but the best of the late mid century look and feel has been kept. The building is late mid century 60's (now cleaned up and painted in 21st century colors). The rooms are furnished with restored (or maybe new) 60's Danish style furniture. It's all very sleek and cool, especially for a small city like Biose, Idaho. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The hotel is downtown, just a few blocks and a short walk from an urbane area with restaurants, bars and coffee houses. The has a bar that is nice in the evenings, and the hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning.

Cool former MotelPosted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Hip vibe, staff, location.
Location: For us, being July 4, the close proximity to the park where fireworks and the pre-firework party were happening was great.
We passed through Boise on route to a rafting trip and stayed at this cool hotel. The staff is very welcoming and warm while also clearly representing the hip side of Boise. The bar and restaurant offered a captivating menu and the rooms were stylish, clean and comfortable. The showers were wonderful! I would definitely recommended the Modern to those facing a brief or extended visit to Boise.

Nice...but not the talk of the town.Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Nice bathroom fixtures and light fixtures.
Cons: Air condition the big hall upstairs. Serve some proteins for breakfast!!! Would some eggs and sausage really be that hard? I'd even pay more for it
Location: Down town location is good. A nice walk to where the action is.
Nice fixtures don't make up for the fact that this is a re-modeled Travellodge or something. PLEASE....some protein for breakfast. Had to go out and spend money on some meat to get some balance.
