“Shopworn But Undergoing Renovation”

I stayed at this hotel years ago and, unfortunately, not much has changed. The room was outdated and shopworn. It appeared to have been somewhay upgraded -- bed canopies removed, perhaps -- but old, rough, woodwork was left behind and exposed ceiling was left unpainted.Carpeting in cooridors was stained and worn. A display in the lobby described planned remodeling so apparantly these problems are being addressed. It was, at one time, a jewel and hopefully it will be again. Their food, buffet style, is still excellent except for the complimentary breakfast which was not buffet and of marginal quality.

“Quiet value hotel”

I visited in summer for an overnight business trip. Yes, the decor is out of date and there are some cosmetic fixes that could be made, but this hotel is quiet and clean, and the price is right. Staff was friendly and courteous. The beds are comfortable, everything was clean and tidy. The WiFi worked and the pool was clean and secluded. The breakfast is the expected $2 value, no fruit, cheap doughnuts, cereal, yogurt, etc. My only complaint would be the one repeated here often. The hot water could only be described as warm. Barely warm. Turn up the temp on the water heater!

“Decent hotel, bad breakfast...”

The Broker was a decent hotel in a nice location. The girl at the front desk was really helpful and gave us directions to CU Boulder as well as a campus map. The room and bathroom were pretty standard, no problems there. The breakfast was a huge disappointment, though - cold cereals, instant oatmeal, powdered eggs and non-descript meat patties with an assortment of low-grade breads. The hotel also had a strange old-fashioned, but interesting, decor....there were lots of pamphlets on things to do in the area.

“Rodeway Inn and Suits the Broker”

I expected the no frills breakfast but many of the items ran out and the menu could of used more foods to offer, Not impressed. Otherwise, the room was nice and clean. Quiet area, hardly any noise and many channels on the T.V. had poor reception. Neat entry-way with a huge globe that my children enjoyed.

“A good choice”

Having grown up in Boulder, I definitely recall The Broker being one of the premier places to stay. That was quite a while ago, and while I'll be the first to admit that The Broker's glory days may be in the past, it remains a fine place to stay. My hotel needs are not extravagant. Really, I just want a clean, quiet, reasonably priced place to stay, and The Broker definitely fits the bill. My room was always clean and well-maintained. Good space and furniture for just hanging around the room, and the wi-fi was fast and easy to use. It's tucked back a little from main thoroughfares, so there's not a ton of noise or traffic. Still convenient to downtown, major streets and highways. Within walking distance of whatever food you might wish (Corelli's, Cosmo's Pizza, McDonald's, Denny's, Dairy Queen), plus a restaurant and room service on-site. There's also an indoor pool and spa, but I haven't given those a try. I've found the staff to be friendly and helpful, no matter what hour you come or go. Plenty of travel brochures available in the lobby, plus some of the local weeklies. The only suggestion I would make for them is to fix up or upgrade the computer they have for customer use; it's seen better days. Traveling to Boulder fairly often to see family, I've been able to sample many of the local hotel offerings. I can honestly say that I've spent more and received less at some other places. I give The Broker strong marks for providing quality accommodations at a good price.

“Nice but what happened?”

The hotel was comfortable and charming - straight out of the old west! The third night though I found that the bar had been shut down. Drat. It is nice to be able to have a glass of wine without going out when it's cold!
