How Did It Get 4 * ????

Posted May 24, 2014
Room not ready on arrival, cracked tiles in bathroom, curtains with holes and have to ask more than once to get something done. Not currently to international 4 * standards and needs urgent repairs/maintenance.

Perfect location for stay in cape town

Posted Mar 29, 2014
This hotel is right next to the beach with great views of table mountain, also good place to watch the sunset. Hotel staff are great and will help you with anything. There are free shuttle services to the V & A waterfront and canal walk which I used quite a lot. Rooms are of a good size and are cleaned to a good standard everyday.

Very Nice Location! Amazing Sunsets!

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Ocean Views, amazing sunsets with Table Mountain in view.
Cons: Fix/ provide WiFi to the Self-Catering Apartments.
Location: Not far from downtown CapeTown- It is helpful to have a car to get around the area.
Our family of 4 (2 Adults/ 2 Children) stayed in a 2-bedroom, self-catering apartment with a view of the sea from our balcony. We enjoyed the location- It was right on the water and very relaxing. We had rented a car which was helpful for getting around to other locations in and around Capetown. However, the hotel did have some shuttle services available as well but we did not utilize them. The room had plenty of space with many amenities available and free secured parking in a garage. The one thing we would change is that they fix/ provide free WiFi in the Apartments. We had to go to the main hotel/ pool area in order to have access to WiFi. Otherwise, we loved our stay at Lagoon Beach. The Hotel Staff were very helpful and even helped fix my son's glasses during our stay. Nightly we enjoyed amazing ocean sunsets with Table Mountain in view. We enjoyed seeing seals from the beach in the evening jumping the waves

Excellent location

Posted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Most of the staff were very welcoming.
Cons: At one point a couple of days went by without the pool being cleaned and it did get quite dirty!
Location: The free bus to the V&A Waterfront is excellent. The waterfront is an excellent place to go for restaurants and bars and shopping.
This is our second visit to Lagoon Beach Hotel. Its excellent location on the beach and the fact that it runs a free shuttle bus to the waterfront is a bonus. We were however disappointed that it took over 3 hours for someone to come and fix the safe in our room! The staff at La Mizu beach bar were excellent and some even recognised us from last year! We would go back again.

Nice hotel but too far away from attractions

Posted Mar 5, 2014
The hotel was really nice, clean and comfortable and the taxi service was effective but a lot more expensive than just booking a taxi all the attractions were too far away and the beach seemed far to empty.

Ok but a bit of maintenance would help

Location nice just out of city centre. Room locks faulty and a splash of paint would make this self catering apartment much nicer.

Good hotel but bad service

Posted Feb 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
First of all, I tried to check in early but was informed to check in after 2pm, show up at 2pm but my room was still not ready. The worst part was I booked a round trip shuttle bus service and this driver didn't show up return time. I waited for 30 minutes and decided to take a taxi back to hotel, when I got back I ask the driver why I wasnt I picked up. He simply replied "I will look into it" and back to busy using his cellphone. I asked him again to show the shuttle bus passenger list to made sure I was on that list. I also asked him when will i get any response to this and he then replied he will bring this to manager then answer me before the end of the day. But as expected there was no answer from this driver. The guy never apologized to me and apparently he didn't care at all, and when I checked out I was going to complain about this situation but the receptionist was on the phone and my friend was already waiting for me to take me to airport. Overall I'd say the service was below average (with other many reasons) but this driver's attitude deserve to take overall score all the way to lowest and I will absolutely not recommend any friend or customer to stay at this hotel.

Great views of Table Bay

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Great hotel for views to Table Mountyain. Ask for an Ocean View room or simply walk out to the beach side of the hotel! Clean rooms, very comfortable etc. Great base to get in and out of cape Town easily. ( 15 min drive ).

South African adventure

Posted Feb 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had travelled to Cape Town for a family wedding spending the first week in a private villa and the second at lagoon beach. The hotel is situated on the far side of the industrial area of Cape Town so you have to take a taxi into the city centre but there is Tusk chauffeur driven cars situated in the front lobby who were very good at supplying nice cars and drivers Pool side only 12 sun loungers so these are reserved by very early morning. Private function closed the restaurant one evening with no notice being given to guests so alternative eating arrangements had to be made by guests themselves

nice change

I was on a 7 day business trip and able to spend 4 days at lagoon and 3 at the westin hotels. The lagoon staff and atmosphere was relaxed and professional. Quality was fine in every respect. The huge bonus was that the hotel is on the beach so you could always see and hear the ocean. Absolutely fantastic if you want that sort of thing (which I did). So top marks for everything. The only downside was that there is virtually nothing nearby - no shops or restaurants -- with the exception of a fantastic Thai restaurant a stone's throw away. Between the Thai and the hotel restaurant and bar, it was perfect for me. It's a 10 minute taxi (about £8) into the city centre. Work commitments meant I needed to be in the city centre later in the week so ideal to compare. For me, I'd have chosen the lagoon hotel every time. Last, the weather was great. If it's windy or chilly, I don't think I'd have been so happy!
