Clean, comfortable hotel close to V&A Waterfront.

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Great location - short walk to V&A waterfront. Nice view of Table Mt from our room.
Cons: Bigger beds.
Location: V&A waterfront - shops, restaurants. Hop on/off bus.
Very convenient location. Rooms clean and comfortable but very small. Beds also quite small. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Never again

Posted Jan 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room were ok and the service ok, but the standard less than average. Most importantly, there is no real common area or facilities. Neither any playground or pool. This isn't good when travelling with kids. The breakfast facilities was somewhere between the old prison standard and a normal hotel, we ate there once and then went out the rest of the days. The so called bar and restaurant facilities is placed in a odd place and you might as well go out or to the neigbor hotel, which is as convenient and more nice.

Great Location and Staff

Posted Jan 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is conveniently located to the water front area which is loaded with shops and cafes. It is also next to the "Hop Off/Hop/On" tour stop #1. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The room was clean and was nicely furnished. When I return to Cape Town, this will be the hotel to get my next booking.

Good Location but utilitarian atmosphere.

Posted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: Was clean and functional
Cons: Did not stay long enough to really comment although our first impression was that we were glad that we only had one night there.
Location: Position is very close to the V&A waterfront ideal for walking during the day, be careful at night take a taxi.
Only stayed one night so did not try out bar and restaurant which were a confusing distance from the block in which our room ( former cell was housed ) Room comfortable with a utilitarian feel my wife felt quite claustrophobic when former cell type door was shut. The former prison common areas had the feel of a university / management centre which is what the block in which we were housed appeared to be .

Good location, poor room experience

Posted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: The location was pretty good for the V&A and we always felt safe. The staff seemed well meaning and tried hard.
Cons: Disclose there is a sub - standard level room and charge accordingly.
Location: V&A Waterfront is great if you are in town for one or two days
Arriving fairly late in the day at about 6:30 pm, we surprisingly couldn't check in because they needed to "check the room" we sat around in the small lobby for 15 minutes. I began to wonder weather they had oversold and we would be upgraded or "walked" to a better hotel. No such luck. We were eventually taken to our room adjacent to the elevator. It was without doubt the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. I had booked the Standard Room, so wasn't expecting a palatial experience, but this was truly special - and not in a good way. It certainly did not look like the photos of a standard room on Expedia. My wife and I turned into Crab People as we shuffled sideways around our cell. Bizarrely, the bathroom only had a bath and no shower. We had expected a mini bar, but got an empty fridge and the hair dryer was broken (it blew, but the shaped thingy you clip on the end was broken - according to my wife, an expert on such matters, this was an actual issue)

An amazing little hotel at the heart of the waterfront. Loved the sense of the old under the beautiful modern update. Room was well appointed, neat and very comfortable!

Wonderful Welcome to South Africa

Posted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: Convenient, safe location; friendly and helpful staff and good food. Reasonable cost was also a positive factor.
Cons: Turndown service in the evening should be added
Location: Perfect location right by the Waterfront
I brought a team of four teenage boys for their first visit to Africa to work on rebuilding a school in the Philippi Township. In selecting a Hotel we focused on safety; convenient location; reasonable cost; good food and friendly helpful and helpful staff. The Hotel scores an A+ on all counts. Your staff made a major contribution to the boys hugely positive impression of South Africa. Thank you!

Convenient to V&A Waterfront

A perfectly adequate hotel room, and friendly staff. Very conveniently located. Only negatives were that the windows and the room door were sonically transparently. Very noisy at night. (we were in bldg A).

Pros: Hospitality
Cons: No coffee in lobby in the am
Location: Marvelous
Located next to the V & A Waterfront, this charming hotel is a quick walk to all the restaurants, shops, tours that are there while still being peaceful in the evening. Great location, unless you have trouble walking on cobbles or up an incline.

Great Location

Wifi: you get 35 mins free per person per day. It's good, but expensive to buy more. Room smelt a bit funny. Staff were excellent, especially the door man.
