Unimpressive. Not worth the money.

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The size and cleanliness of the room. The safe. The larger size bathroom. The warm and courteous cleaning staff.
Cons: larger lobby with front desk. A decent sofa bed. Another elevator. A change in check in time to a normal 12pm.
Location: Shop. Shop. Shop.
There were three people in our party and had a room with one king bed and a sofa bed. The room was very clean with a good size bathroom. The king bed was adequate, but the sofa bed was horrendous ! The mattress was extremely thin and it sunk in the middle. Needless to say, I folded the bed and slept on the sofa itself. The hotel has an outrageous 4pm check-in policy and they stick to it. The front desk was pathetic and was nothing more than a small counter that can hold only two clerks at a time. So yes, it gets busy and you have to wait. The lobby is also very small and there wasn't enough seats for people to wait for there 4pm check in. There are only two elevators and they were very small and can hold only four (average size) people comfortably. It is very slow and you have to wait a very long time to get one. Its even worse during check out time where everyone leaves around the same time with luggage in tow. This hotel is NOT in the loop which is where you want to be if you are a tourist. This hotel is in the 'high end' shopping district, so if you've come to shop for luxury brands, this would be a great location.(Although, not a great hotel). My interaction with hotel staff was limited, but they all were pleasant and the cleaning staff was exceptionally courteous. This isn't a bad hotel, but certainly not anything greater than 3 stars, and not an ideal location for tourists, as most of the attractions are in the loop. Spend the money on a hotel in the loop.

I'm not sure what type of hotel this is exactly: chic, boutique, trendy, classic, modern, ... a bit of all the above; definitely on the higher end of the scale. That said, very comfortable spacious room, great bathroom, noisy air conditioner with poor temperature controls, average in-room entertainment. Decent location to tool around the city. If you have a car valet parking is $68 a day! There is a place across the street for $32 a day, but you get charged each time you exit so it adds up fast.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at our hotel overall! We appreciate the feedback and honesty. On the other hand, I am sorry to hear of the issues with the air conditioner. We are checking into the matter and having our engineers follow up. I hope to see you back again soon!

Excellent location on a quiet side street

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: We found the hotel to be ...quaint, very clean.....and the staff friendly and accommodating. We liked the room amenities....microwave, fridge.
Cons: The bathroom was a little small. Having an additional sink in the bar area is suggested considering there is only one sink in the unit.
Location: The beach and lakefront trails for walking/running.....the shopping, restaurants, parks, and accessible transit system.
Having stayed previously at the Fairmont Hotel on the south side of the river near Millenium park, we preferred the Raffaello. It is located very close to the beach and trails for running or walking. There is more selection in restaurants and stores. The tourist building is right around the corner and they provided us with transit and tour info, and made recommendations on where to eat. The red line is a short walk from the Hotel which was useful for excursions to the ballpark and suburbs. We found the hotel to be very much to our liking....quaint, simple, very clean.....and the staff friendly and accommodating. We were notified that our room was ready 4 hours before check in. The rooftop lounge and bar were great. The sidewalk dining experience reminded me of dining in Paris.

Amazing location, fantastic hotel

The room is spacious and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and nice. The best thing of this hotel is that it's 1 block away from the Magnificent Mile, water tower and the Hancock observatory. There are lots of things to do around.

Decent value, not an upscale experience

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: Better attention to cleaning and room details
Great location, good value but not an upscale experience. Rooms are not cared for properly and newly refurbished rooms were done cheaply and not very attractive. Recommended only for the mid category traveler.

GREAT LOCATION! We walked to many great places.

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Location and cleanliness of the room.
Cons: I had wished that you had offered breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. Donuts are not a healthy start!!!!
Location: Great location--walked to museums, shops and great neighborhoods.
I will say that the bell hop was friendly but the concierge hardly made an attempt to welcome us. I also was not blown over by the person at the sign-in desk. I am sued to friendly people at many Ritzes and Marriotts!

Love this hotel but this last stay was average

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Location, size
Cons: Refresh
I have stayed here 3 or 4 times when I stay downtown Chicago. I love it's location and that it is small and cosy. However, it seemed a little worse for wear this time. My room was clean, but smelled musty. Just wasn't the same. I will give it another chance.

Great location!

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Proximity, cleanliness, friendly staff, donuts!
Cons: Attention to detail: 3 people in a room, then 3 chairs, not two. 3 glasses, 3 cups etc....
Location: I like the proximity to shopping transit, restaurants, Michigan Ave, Navy Pier......Everything is easily accessible.
The hotel is located just off Michigan Ave so everything is close by. I really enjoyed the donut bar and they serve excellent coffee! The room was comfortable, albeit a little small for three people. Overall, we had a good experience.
