Stillwaters is a lovely lakeside retreat. The house is very comfortable for multiple families - somehow it manages to be both spacious and cozy at the same time. The kitchen and living areas are open and get great natural light and the deck is a great place to relax when the weather cooperates!
Additionally. Ada is an absolutely wonderful host. She was extremely responsive and tried really hard to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
A few quick notes - though we knew we were opting out of the towel and linen service, we did not realize we also needed to supply our own dish towels, sponges, paper towels, or bathroom hand towels, so we had to run to the store to get those items. The kitchen is otherwise very well stocked with all the cooking and serving gear you’d ever need. Also, the dock is not exactly right in front of the house, it’s a little walk through a wooded area to get there, although Ada was nice enough to have people clear a path to help us get there more easily. Wasn’t an issue for me or my wife but for my parents, who are about 70 years old, it wasn’t the most convenient lake access. Finally, the internet service was slow. At times thats welcome- after all we didn’t want to be glued to devices the whole time, but I needed to do some work remotely a couple days and the internet speeds made that a bit challenging.
All in all it was a lovely, comfortable stay made better by the host’s care and attentiveness. Thanks for a great week!
