newly remodeled facility but major problem.Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Very little except the view.
Cons: Attitude of owner and upkeep of the facility until it actually closes for the season.
Location: Denali Park 20 minutes away
Lodging was in individual cabins. The cabins were newly remodeled and nicely decorated. Our cabin wreaked of raw sewage. When we contacted one of the owners, he was extremely condescending and informed us that this wasn't an urban environment and they had to use septic tanks. Our cabin's septic was overflowing and because it was the end of season, he couldn't do anything about it. We had pre-paid for two nights and had to stay. By the time we left, all of our clothes smelled like sewage and had to be washed, and we were nauseated from the smell. I have both a septic system at home and an RV holding tank, neither of which has ever smelled this bad. The other issue was with the restaurant. Half of the menu items were unavailable because it was end of season. This was understandable but disappointing since we were staying while they were still open, and we were a long way from town.

Avoid at all costs!Posted Sep 9, 2014 on Hotels
Over-priced, exterior under-maintained, and - worst of all - NO CONSISTENT HOT WATER! (an "observation" confirmed by several others guests).

Cabin in the woodsPosted Sep 6, 2014
Very neat & cozy place. For a wilderness setting it's quite adequate. Nice restaurants in the areas. Space is just enough for you don't travel to Denali to be enjoying room stay.

Great Cabins to Stay stPosted Sep 5, 2014 on Hotels
I thought my stay was amazing. It was enough to be in Alaska and be near Denali, then add in the Perch Cabins and it was more than I could ask for. Situated next to a creek was beautiful, over looking Mt Panorama was breath taking and the service was exceptional. The two brothers that run the place do a great job of being great hosts and have all the answers you seek for the area. They put together a wonderful book of all the local activities, and being the other people I met who not only live there year round, but grew up there, they knew it all. No question went unanswered. When I go back to Alaska, and its not an if, it's a when, I will be staying there again. Keep up the great work! Oh, and the pizza place had great pizza and served ice cream (moose tracks) in a bowl like at grandma's, it was great! Breakfast at their other restaurant was excellent with a view that is second to non. Take a window seat and just immerse yourself!

Good place to stay close to Denali National ParkPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Denali National Park
I was only looking for a place to stay for couple of nights and the Perch hotel was ideal. The room is small but good for the night stay.

Nice but unfriendlyPosted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: good location
Cons: treatment of customers
I do not know whether the demand is more than the supply. But this is certainly no reason for the owner of the resort to be very unfriendly and somewhat rude. Other than this the lodge was good.
