Great locationPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: It's location
Cons: Better breakfast, more comfortable beds.
My first trip to Italy , accompanied by my 22 yr old daughter. The hotel was pleasant enough, but not that comfortable. The beds were terrible, leaving us both with backaches. Only 1 pillow per person provided which is pretty chintzy in my book. The towels were scratchy and the free breakfast not great.

A good hotel out of the congested city centerPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The hotel has an excellent American Bar with beautiful inside/outside tables. The rooms are spacious, and very goods restaurants around the hotel.
Cons: In general sense the hotel has very good conditions.
Location: 15 minutes walking to the Duomo and the central market.
Was our second time in Florence, at this time with some friends, the hotel is a very good and comfortable installation, in a quiet location, the staff is very professional and friendly.

Nice hotel away from the crowd, and close 2 centerPosted Jul 12, 2014
This is a cosy one close to attractions by foot. There's also a close by bus station if you prefer a ride. The staff was polite and the rooms were clean and tidy. I would recommend without hesitation.

Would stay there againPosted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was good every morning. The hotel staff were friendly.
Cons: The room wasn't huge but it was comfortable enough for a couple.
Location: There are a few nice restaurants and a gelateria within a few minutes walk. The tourist sights are definitely walkable.
The San Gallo Palace was a comfortable stay. It was close enough to walk to the different sights (15-20 min) and was in a quieter part of the city but there are enough amenities around and wasn't too far from the train/bus station. We would recommend it and would go back to Florence again.

Difficult to findPosted Jul 3, 2014
Good breakfast with a very nice staff. A bit out of the way from the city center but the walk is worth the escape from the busy inner streets.

The hotel was clean and modern. The breakfast is good and the location is not to far from the action.

Expedia and the San Gallo Palace HotelPosted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: We liked the cleanliness of the whole hotel, the attentive and friendly staff, fantastic bathroom with our room, and the excellent breakfasts
Cons: Perhaps some additional noise insulation, if that were possible
Location: The hotel is relatively close walking distance to the Centre, and hence in proximity to all the key places to visit such as the Duomo, the Uffizi etc
We booked our stay in Florence on-line with Expedia, and we found the service from them to be excellent with all the necessary back up support. The flights, which involved 2 connecting flights to Florence with Air France from Newcastle UK via Paris, worked like clockwork, with just enough time (50 minutes) available to reach the terminals during transit. The Flight crew knew that we were transit passengers and gave advice as to how to reach the right terminals - well done Air France - great airline with modern and efficient Airbus aircraft. The San Gallo Palace Hotel was a great place to stay, within reasonable walking distance of the City Centre. The facilities in the hotel were very comfortable and roomy, exceptionally clean, and the staff very welcoming, efficient and kind - it lived up to all our expectations. The staff at breakfast time were very attentive and helpful and typically Italian - very kind and friendly. The only minor downside was perhaps the level of traffic noise outside the hotel which is located on a road junction, but this would not bother anyone used to living in the centre of town. Florence itself is a treat - a very special kind of place like no other in the world - well done to the Italians for respecting their history and culture - what a great nation they are. We were bold over by the place - the culture, the mixture of art, science and architecture and the quality of the environment. We will return again I am sure.
