Nice hotel but a bit off the beaten track.Posted Oct 16, 2014
Had a nice 3 day stay at this hotel, but it is a good 25 min walk from the sights, restaurants and station, and nearer 35 mins with suitcases, as the pavements are uneven, very narrow in places and people are coming towards you all the time. As many Italian restaurants start their dinner service at 8pm I was a bit apprehensive coming back to the hotel at 10pm to find over a dozen people sleeping rough just around the corner. Hotel and staff are great, nice rooms, good breakfast etc,but when you have been on your feet for hours sightseeing a closer hotel to the action may be a better choice.

Great hotel -walking distance to central FlorencePosted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to main attractions in Florence.
Cons: Prices for bar service could be more comparable with local establishments-would have preferred stay at hotel for cocktails but did not due to cost.
Location: Near Piazza Della Liberte and walking down Via Camillo Benso Cavour, provides opportunity to see places, not on the normal walking tours.
Stayed at hotel Oct 3-5, 2014. As soon as walked through doors, greeted by friendly staff and not disappointed with our stay. Breakfast was very good as offered numerous selections (cereal, various breads, juices, fruit, sliced meat etc). We had an early flight and hotel even provided us with a bagged breakfast (much appreciated at 5am). Would recommend and definitely come back to this hotel as within proximity to main attractions in Florence but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We walked everywhere and discovered new places to see along our walk from hotel. Room was clean and met our needs.

Outstanding hotelPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: This is a perfectly lovely hotel but by far the best observation to it was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They couldn't have done more.
Cons: The barman needs a lesson on customer service. We were unable to get 2 hot chocolates as the bar was being closed in 30 minutes and this was at 10:50.
Location: We dined at a fantastic restaurant called Alfredos. The food was delicious and typically Italian with very friendly staff and was reasonably priced.
My husband and I and two friends visited Florence for a few days and enjoyed our experience very much even though the weather according to the locals was extraordinarily hot and humid for the time of year. We visited the Boboli Gardens which wasn't a garden by my understanding, more of a park which requires some physical effort to ascend, a fact of which I believe should have been pointed out to the visitors before purchasing the tickets. We chose not to join lengthy queues to galleries and such instead to take in the sights eg. Statue of David and to stroll over the bridge. We also happened upon a marvellous street festival which apparently occurs quite frequently.

Hotel 15 minutes walk from the centre of FlorencePosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Reception and Staff, excellent. Our room, was comfortable and bed surpringly comfortable. We slept very well. The bathroom had a fabulous shower,
Cons: Put this in the centre of Florence! Impossible. Nothing could be improved considering the situation.
Location: A 15 minute walk from the Duomo. Two excellent restaurants within a five minute walk for dinner.
We wanted to visit Florence and had a budget but wanted a quality hotel. We thought the centre of Florence may be a little expensive but we didn't want to compromise on the quality of our stay. We opted for quality of comfort and other standards we expect and we were prepared to be out of the centre. We knew we would have walk into the centre each day and were happy to do this. Once we had our bearings it was a straight forward 15 minute walk ( give if take a couple of minutes!)

Only spent one night but would have been happy to stay more. Staff pleasant and helpful with local information. Room was large and comfortable, bath large and clean with modern fixtures and tile and a marble top vanity. Wonderful breakfast included.

Cute and comfy!Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Everything was great, really enjoyed my stay!
Cons: The computer's internet connection in the lobby was AWFUL. Turtles move faster than the speed of the internet.
Location: There's a tiny café on the left of the hotel that serves amazing cappuccino.
I stayed at San Gallo Palace with my husband at the end of September. The hotel is located just outside of the main attractions centre and takes about 15/20 minutes to reach on foot, which is not a chore at all in beautiful Florence! The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the middle floor at the end of a corridor and it was pretty quiet (apart from some very loud elephants being amorous upstairs at 1 a.m.). Good breakfast (cooked and continental).

Nice hotel in good locationPosted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Everything was good
Location: Located about 15-20 minute walk to all the main attractions, so very convenient.
The hotel is about 15-20 minute stroll to central attractions. Although near a busy road good insulation made sure noise was not a problem. The room was not large but big enough. Clean and comfortable. We were at first disappointed that there was no tea/ coffee making facility in the room but noted that you could ask at reception for this to be provided - we asked and within 10 minutes we had a tray with kettle and all the bits to make tea/coffee. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked tickets for the Uffizi on line (to save some queuing) and the hotel printed out the voucher for us.

Lovely hotel 10 mins walk from Florence centrePosted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.
Cons: Can't think of anything that could be improved
Location: 10 minutes walk from Centre of Florence. Must try restaurant Tito, just down the road on way into Florence. Food amazing, prices very reasonable.
Nice clean, comfortable room. Very friendly staff who did everything they could to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Very quiet considering quite close to a main road.

Very comfortable and welcomingPosted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: The staff, the decor, the ambience, the food.
Cons: The air conditioning controls didn't work properly and I found the room on the hot side for sleeping
Location: Easy access to town centre. The Duomo, Uffizzi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Boboli Gardens, open top tour bus. Many other museums and galleries.
We found all the staff very pleasant, eager to please, efficient and easy to talk to (no language difficulties), always someone at the reception desk - with a smile. The rooms were clean, plenty of hot water. Well stocked breakfast bar. A small hotel with a large heart.
