Four Days at Sand CastlePosted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: Quaint setting with artsy trinkets everywhere, courtesy of the owners, Simone and Sheryl from Maine.
Cons: The food was very good but not the service, due to poorly trained staff. You should not have to go into the kitchen to get your ice water refilled.
Location: It is half a mile walk to the edge of town and another half to the other side, where nice eating places are found, such as Turtles Deli and Pier 69.
Wonderful 25th anniversary vacation for me and my wife. We had continental breakfast 15 yards from the Caribbean Ocean waves gently rolling in on the sandy expanse between smooth pieces of volcanic rock. The motel is located on the lee side of the island, so the waves are small. However, bigger waves are found on the east side of Sandy Point, which a one mile walk on a paved road, then half a mile more on the beach. A dip in the fresh water pool replaced the need for a shower after the ocean swim, which offered spectacular view of fish and sea shells in the crystal clear water. The food was very good but the service not so with poorly trained staff. You should not have to go into the kitchen twice to get your ice water refill.

Nice hotel close to beachPosted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Quiet, clean, pleasing food menu but more expensive.
Cons: Better room description regarding location such as beach side or across the road
Location: Not as much to do in Fredricksted. More options in Christiansted but further away.
We had a great mother-daughter trip. Older population resort so not really for the younger population.

Great Staff, Nice BeachPosted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Note: Not happy that your program limits/stops one from completing the sentence.
Cons: Update the rooms and improve the morning breakfast.
Location: There is one good restaurant in town. The walk way along the beach, in town, has such great potential. A good clean-up, a little repair and paint,
The staff, especially Kelly and the House Keeper, were very nice. The beach is great. The accommodations were nice, but a little quirky. The morning breakfast poor in both service, setting and offering.

Nice hotel on the beachPosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Staff, friendliness of other guests.
Cons: Restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Inconvenient for anyone who doesn't want to leave the property.
Location: Convenient location. Good for snorkeling and diving. Some local traditional entertainment periodically.
Much of the area is old and rundown, needs some upgrading. Rental car is a must to see everything. Everything is expensive including food and beverages.

Great locationPosted Feb 9, 2015
Overall a good place to stay. Located on a beautiful beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Only downside was it got a bit loud some of the nights we were there (traffic noise and loud talkers in the lobby). Also would suggest they offer more choices at the continental breakfast besides so many bread items~ perhaps some fruit or oatmeal.

Nice location with beachesPosted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: We really enjoyed to quiet, peaceful and calm atmosphere and location.
Cons: It could use some cosmetic refreshing, but it did fit into the entire island culture.
Location: Many great beaches to explore, Fort Fredricksted, Turtles Deli and Turtles After Dark restaurant, Rhythms at Rainbow beach for the best french fries
Nice location with miles of empty beaches. Good snorkeling location close by. If you are expecting the amenities of an all-inclusive you will be disappointed. But is it very calm, peaceful and low key. Just what we were looking for. Renting a care is a must for this location to explore the island and find places to eat. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, but we never ate there. Food on the island is a bit pricey due to everything being imported. We enjoyed our room which had the kitchen, living area, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. We were able to leave the windows open most nights and slept with the sounds of the ocean and palm trees. The resort does seem to attract an older crowd, not really a great hotel for young kids.

Nice Hotel. Excellent beach.Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Closeness to water. Beach. Dining area right on the water. Comfortable room.
Cons: Rooms were noisy at times. Restaurant closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Shower water temperature unpredictable.
Location: Location on beach was great. Not much close to hotel to do. Had to take taxi to town or walk 20+ minutes. Dive shop N2 the Blue in town was great.
Very nice hotel right on the beach. Beautiful sunsets every evening. Great beach area. Close enough to water you could hear the waves from our room. Had a great time.

Fun on St. CroixPosted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable. Nice restaurant.
Cons: Daily sweeping of sand on floors in rooms and more frequent bed linen changes due to sand would be an improvement.
Location: Great snorkeling near resort. Frederiksted was within walking distance. Rain forest near by.
My wife and I Stayed on St. Croix the week following Christmas through the new year. We spend a fair amount of time researching destinations and resorts for our vacations. Came across Sand Castle on the Beach on the web and it looked cozy and relaxing. We gave it a try and were very pleased. We spent only a couple of days exploring the island. Most of our time was spent relaxing on the beach and watching sunsets from the resorts. Just the winter vacation we needed.
