Julie: Thank your staying at Clearview Cottage, LLC and for your positive review. The views from multiple rooms in the house are hard to beat and always changing. A photo of the stairway leading to the downstairs is in our property description. The steps are slightly narrow, but there is also a very sturdy handrail for use when going up and down. Also, as you noted, the first floor (including a bedroom with a king size bed, full tub bath/shower and 2 sinks, kitchen, dining room, living room, TV and fireplace) are all conveniently situated on the first floor - all accessible via level ground from the moment you step out of your car. In addition, there are three bedrooms, a bathroom with large shower, and a laundry room downstairs. The downstairs is accessible via the stairs from the upstairs, wide stairs with rail via the deck outside, or via a cedar mulch path around the outside of the house. Because the views and the beauty of the surroundings, with a first floor and wrap-around deck that is so accessible with everything needed (except the downstairs laundry), we would not discourage anyone from staying at the cottage. We are very empathetic to those with mobility challenges and will do anything we can to make our guests' stay pleasant and enjoyable, including not expecting the towels to be started when related to a disability (if communicated ahead of time). We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! The view is unbeatable! We were surprised to hear about the chiggers. There are cleared paths all around the house and there is a path to the pristine beach. There is no reason to walk through any weeds. See photos in listing. There are a variety of beds in the house - some a little more firm, some a little more soft...but all very comfortable!
