Cabin space...

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Space in the rooms...kids loved the hot tub
Cons: Lots...parking price, for water park, check in time took forever, usually only one person working with lines backed up with multiple people.
Location: Lots to do in Gaitlinburg and Pigeon Forge! Tons of fun!
Although the cabin was a nice space, there was never ANY parking available outside our cabin which meant unpacking loads of stuff and 4 kids in a horrible location with a wild hike up a mountain-not convenient! Staff could be kinder, it almost felt like once you were there (and paid up) you really didn't matter as much. Not planning to go back. Could get a better deal for the money paid somewhere else! (Water park is not included-our family had to pay an additional $100! This should be included or at the very least discounted significantly!)

Not really a hotel.

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: It was available on short notice, impressive lobby, pretty good restaurant for dinner, clean enough.
Cons: Room arrangement, tidy up the outside.
Location: Convenient to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
This is primarily a resort complex, not a hotel. Thus, there is no elevator for the three story walkup, no ice, no free breakfast. Most of the amenities, there is lots to do, cost extra. Our room included pots, pans, glasses, dishes, flatware, a cooktop, a small refrigerator, and dishwasher. (The freezer needed to be defrosted before anything would fit.) However, there was no towels or ice; which arrived later. The room architect apparently have never seen a well designed hotel room, much less been in one. There is only one window, which is fairly removed from the living space. The interior designer was clueless as to the room's usable arrangement. As a result, all the furniture was shoved against one wall, the bed only accessible from one side, and nearly all of the electric receptacles obscured by furniture. If you cell phone falls down the wrong side of the bed, good luck retrieving it; you are wondering how I know this ;-). The room received a first-class renovation several years ago, with granite counter tops, slate-look floor tile, and bathroom wallpaper! However, since then, the daily steaming of the wallpaper allows it to peel. The plain, white shower tile grout is pretty moldy, there is no place to hang a wash cloth or towel in shower and only one towel bar in the bath. There was a large container of bed linens outside of our room that remained there for the duration of our stay. This place may work for a week of skiing. However, it is pricy as a hotel room.

We loved the resort, our room was amazing except they did not take out the garbage from a previous guest and there were dirty diapers in the garage that smelled bad! Also They did not honor the Expedia deposit I made so I paid for the room in full when I got there.

Be careful...

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Time share property which isn't the end of the world but they invited me to participate, told me I qualified even without my husband then denied me.
Location: LOVE Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg...
This is a nice resort with nice rooms...HOWEVER... it is a timeshare property so the focus is on getting you to buy a timeshare. As a result they charge for EVERYTHING. Internet was $10 per day, per device. That's crazy...and it is crappy internet. The water park costs extra and is OK. Overall I was disappointed because I wasn't received the same way I would be at a nice hotel.

Nice resort but Bad check in experience.

Posted Jul 21, 2015
It is a well managed and clean resort. Except for the check- in we've not been treated nicely, overall it is a nice resort. Front desk clerk told us we should book direct through them. Because we booked from Expedia, we won't have free water park ticket. We showed her the print confirmation paper we paid $350 plus tax per night and asked her to check again. She insisted we should buy two days ticket for my daughter. She even arranged us a smaller room. After working with manager we finally have a one bed room with full kitchen. It's a very nice room. My daughter really enjoys their water park and have a great vacation.

A bit overpriced!

Posted Jul 18, 2015
It was a nice place. Didn't realize I wouldn't have maid service the whole time so I had to get my own garbage bags and swap out my towels. Trolly service could be beBetter.my room was a lot smaller than I expected. Don't believe I got my money worth. I could've gotten a much bigger room for the same price at another resort and wouldn't have to clean m room everyday.the resort was clean and the people were very nice. If you had a room up top the view was beautiful.

Over priced all amenities are additional charges a

They put you in the lowest grade rooms to try to take you on a tour to get a time share. Rooms are very small and internet advertisements are very misleading. All activities are additional charges including kids activities.

It's just another timeshare

Posted Jul 11, 2015
I feel obligated to write about our recent stay. We were really anticipating our stay at Westgate and sadly became more and more disappointed throughout the stay until we eventually booked additional nights at another hotel. The room was in need of updating and repairs. Listed as a studio villa sleeping up to 4 it was extremely cramped for 2 adults and 2 very small children. It was honestly smaller than any hotel room I have EVER stayed in. EVER. And for nearly $300 a night (room only cost) We were frustrated to say the least. They have "activities" to try to keep you at the resort but every chance possible we wanted to leave. Everywhere was overcrowded. Ridiculously Inadequate parking. As for the staff, never in my travels have I ever seen staff members that seem so miserable to be at their jobs. Rarely did anyone smile as they forced a wave or hello. There were a few that were completely unable to answer a question or even know who/where to send us to find an answer. And then some who were downright rude. As for their water park, It was mediocre. The seating was a joke. Employees were miserable. Perhaps we were put off by the lackluster lifeguards who we had to alert to a young child repeatedly vomiting in the pool before anything was done about it. I wouldn't recommend this resort to any friends. We will not return. However, we highly and enthusiastically recommend the Park Vista by Hilton in Gatlinburg, it was impeccable.

There's always a hook!

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: Super clean, lots of things on site and being planned. The spa was great, also!
Cons: It's not just a hotel or a group of "cabins"...it's a timeshare. I'd change that.
Location: Gatlinburg and Piegon Forge are both close as well as Smoky Mountain Park. Two hours away is the Biltmore Estate, also! Well worth the road!
We chose this hotel because of the amenities and approximation to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Excellent. The hotel room is a suite with a kitchen, full bath, living room, fireplace, and some have balconies. Excellent. When we checked in, we were asked to take a tour. . . yes, it's also a HUGE timeshare spot. We took it because they offered some nice bribes. Worth it. We said no because a) timeshares are a horrible investment, and b) we were not looking to invest down there. The 90 minute tour was 2 1/2 hours, so beware. It's the usual, when you say no, they are not happy, they try to upsell, blah, blah, blah. The views are great, though!
