Unexpected fee

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Cons: Full disclosure of the pet fee on the web site where the pet criteria are listed.
We brought our small dog on our trip since the hotel web site says it welcomes pets. Upon checking in we were avised there would be a $75 pet fee! I was quite incensed. Adding that amount of money to the room charge without notifying us at the time reservations were made appeared somewhat underhanded. There is no mention of this fee on the hotel web site where the pet guidelines are listed, e.g. weight of pet, etc. I rechecked the web site later and discovered you have to click on the heading "non-mandatory fees" to have the paragraph appear mentioning the charge. Seems sneaky to me to put it where no one is likely to look, especially if it says "non-mandatory fees". Non-mandatory must have a different meaning to Hyatt. We have stayed at this hotel every time on our visits to Columbus, without our dog, though, and always enjoyed it. Before our next trip, though, we will seriously consider other options. Seventy-five dollars seems excessive. I bet quite a few humans have done more damage than most pets without having paid a fee.

Great Place to Stay!

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Very nice and well kept and clean
Cons: Coffee and muffins or doughnuts in the wee early hours would be great!
Stayed 1 night due to brother being in University Hospital. Only drawback was we had to leave at 4:45 AM and there was nothing out yet for the breakfast - no coffee either.

One of the best hotel stays ever!

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Perfect the way it is. Awesome stay!
Location: Convenient to everything. We were there for our daughter's wedding but I would recommend the Ohio Historical Society Village and the Columbus Zoo
Facilities, hotel staff, breakfast and even the Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill next door are outstanding. The hotel is a little tricky to get to initially but is very convenient to the arena district, Short North, the OSU campus and everything that's happening in Columbus!

Everything was great for a 1 night stay!

Posted May 31, 2014
Friendly faces greeted us from the start. Loved the sectional to relax. Loved buckeyes grill (literally right there!!) and had evening snack from 'the gallery'. Beds were great! Very quiet rooms- it was as if we were the only ones there. The morning hot skillet was much appreciated!! And to top it off-music as we walked in/out of hotel. Only negative-pool is on small side-so didn't go. We would def stay again!!

In town for JWU Graduation

Posted May 30, 2014
Stayed for 3 nights. Graduation was next store at the Time Warner Area...so convenient! Nice decor throughout. Great breakfast. We enjoyed the pool area with our kids and young nephews. At certain times of day the elevators would get crowded. Overall a wonderful experience.

Quiet location but near to the city's center

Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Convenience to my relatives and yet so close to downtown, and to other parts of the city. Staff was very nice and appeared to like working there.
Cons: More whole grain offerings in free breakfast buffet, though it was great and free . Would prefer a shower/sink/toilet in one contained space in room.
Location: Grandview was a mostly residential area with some light industry as you get closer to downtown. There are neighborhood bars and such.
I admit I do not travel often, so you could say almost any clean, comfy hotel would have satisfied me. But, I needed a place that was close to where my relatives live without having to deal with the relative noise of downtown. This filled the bill. It's probably more of an ideal business hotel than anything else, but I found it to be perfectly hospitable for the casual traveller as well.

Quiet area, next to downtown

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: Very quiet part of town.
Cons: The smell of the room was musty and it didn't clear up during our overnight stay.
Location: Siri took us to the unfinished hotel next door but we figured out where to go from there.
My children and I were pleasantly surprised by the quiet location so close to downtown Columbus. The hotel itself was very nice and clean. The pool was excellent and the continental breakfast was yummy. The only thing that bothered me was the musty smell of our room the whole time we were there. The air conditioner made it a little more better but it was a very strong odor.
