Clean and friendly hotel near the beach

We booked last minute and this hotel was the only hotel with available rooms for the Saturday on Memorial day weekend. We had an oceanfront room at Marriott booked for Sunday night. To my surprise, this hotel was super clean, spacious room, comfortable bed. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to park right outside of our room. They had a great buffet style breakfast in the morning which was delicious and convenient. Since it isn't oceanfront, we went to Coligny Public Beach which was a few minutes away and had a blast! We paid higher room rates because we booked a few days before, but I think the regular rooms rates are very reasonable if you book early. I am very impressed by this Ramada Inn. I would definitely stay here again. I felt like I got more value for my money than I did at the Marriott Resort. The only difference was the Marriott had a great Ocean view. For the price, and if you are visiting one of the public beaches and don't mind it not being oceanfront, I would recommend this hotel! AAA+++

Housekeeping needs a lot of help

Cons: Fix the wi-fi, and attention to detail by the housekeeping staff
Location: Beautiful location. Lush vegetation.
Housekeeper did dismal job of cleaning prior to my taking the room. The morning after I checked in, I pulled out the chair from under the desk, to find a Q tip and and bottle cap on the chair. Then upon opening the shower curtain, found a half-used bar of soap on the tub. Came back late that afternoon after completing the day's business to find that my room had been missed from the housekeeper's routine list. In addition, Wi-fi was a joke. Couldn't maintain an internet connection for longer than four minutes without the connection dropping. What made the situation worse was the fact that I had an important Skype call that also dropped and ultimately had to be re-scheduled for several days later when all parties had availability on their calendars.

The clerk was extremely friendly and the exterior was in excellent condition. The room wasusty spelling. Very out of date furniture and the linens were dingy. Would not recommend. Disappointed because we usually love Ramada.

Location: ocean close, lots of good eaterys .
we did a weekend at the ramada inn to visit family. friendly staff clean room, room smelled clean and fresh as soon has we opened the door. which was important to us.

There was furniture and mattresses laying on the grounds and on the sidewalks on the back of the property, which should be removed! We had a light fixture just lying in our room. The water pressure in the shower was so low I could barely rinse the shampoo out of my hair. The pool chairs were extremely dirty, and 4 of them were broken, but still remained in the pool area. I was extremely disappointed in the entire property as the photos depicted on the website did not resemble the property at all!!! I travel often and always try to save money when possible, but had I not paid through Expedia I would have cancelled my reservation upon arrival..

Excellent value!

Cons: Decor is dated.
Location: Hilton Head has a lot of stuff to do.
This hotel was an excellent value for our family! The price was very good, kids stay free, and free FULL breakfast every morning. Mina and her staff were very accommodating, pleasant, and helpful! Free wifi, and even a little mini golf course out front. There is a pool, but we did not get a chance to check it out. This hotel is a little older, but is well maintained and clean. If you are not looking for a fancy five-star resort, but rather just need a place to sleep and shower, then this hotel may well suit your needs. It is on the outskirts of Hilton Head Island itself, so it is about a 10 minute drive to get into the main part of the island. Again, overall, a great value, and we would stay there again.

Not Recommended!!! Bad Experience

Pros: Nothing. I will never return and not sure I'll take a chance on Ramada ever again either. I'll likely stick with what we know is good.
Cons: Decide if its going to be a dump or sink some serious cash into overhaul and make it appealing. Should not offer sub-par, unrefurbished rooms.
Location: Hilton Head has fantastic beaches. The Boathouse Restaurant which was recommended by staff was outstanding!
Booked via Expedia and was aware it was under renovation but...YUCK! Went into our king suite, which smelled 'funky' and was reminiscent of something from a college spring break grade motel! Stained counter tops, very stark- not one picture hanging on the wall (although there were picture hangers!) Way under any standards we are used to at the likes to Hampton Inn/Comfort Suites. Went back to front office and explained and the gentleman was very considerate and moved us to an available king room (no suites left). It was "updated". So, it did have a picture on the wall and was more freshly painted. We didn't even touch the couch- nasty!!! Overall cleanliness was questionable. I will give the man at the desk credit- he acknowledged they have a long way to go and he was helpful in recommending a fantastic restaurant nearby. The morning breakfast was quite good.
