Good location for wknd trip, but not very clean.

Posted Jun 28, 2015
I understand a cheaper price means fewer amenities. But I still expect it to be clean! I won't go into details, but I'll choose a different a different budget hotel in the area when I go back.

Inexpensive Hotel in Great Vacation Spot

Posted Jun 24, 2015
The hotel is in a great location, convenient to restaurants and necessities. The room was clean. No wash-cloths the first night, no hand-towels the third night. The handle/lock for our room didn't work correctly without playing with it each time. There were some obvious maintenance issues on the outside of the hotel.

Nice hotel really convenient hilton head sc is a real experience that you just have to see for yourself & the red roof inn is probably the cheapest place to stay that's nice enough for you to have a wonderful experience.

Wonderful.

The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the staff was informative. If it would've been within walking distance to the beach it would've been absolutely perfect.

Older facility but clean and comfortable

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Beds were very comfy and room was clean. I liked having a hardwood (probably laminate) floor instead of carpet.
Cons: A couple more towels in the room and thicker towels. Breakfast could use some items with protein.
This is an older facility but they've kept it up pretty well. Our room was on the back side of bldg 2 so it was quiet but away from the pool and lobby. We were there for a quick weekend getaway and this was centrally located and reasonable. The rooms do open to the outside which might be concerning to some.

For what I wanted to pay it was fine. They have remodeled the rooms and I like that they took the carpet out.

Frequent visitor to Hilton Head

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Staff ok
Cons: Change the filters in the air conditioner to improve air quality or change carpet.
Because of a family situation I am on Hilton Head 4times a year. Must Stay at a motel. Have been staying somewhere else but thought since I only sleep there, why not try a less expensive place. Hence my visit to Red Roof Inn. I was unaware that a "standard" room meant bare bones. The room was clean but smelled musty. There was only a rack to hang my clothing on, no hair dryer or even a coffee pot. I understand now that the next price range up includes these services. I would not return here.

Laminate wood floors a pleasant surprise

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: not directly on the main road, lack of carpet in the room, nice trees/vegetation around the rooms & parking area.
Cons: for the style of hotel it was, the owners have done a good job of making it attractive and functional.
Location: HHI has a LOT to do nearby. The main road has a walking/biking path ... and from there you can get to all sorts of amenities with a mile.
As someone with allergies it was nice to see the faux wood floors throughout the room. The bed, furniture, AC unit were all updated and pleasing. This is an older motel style with doors that face the outside. Easy for loading/unloading but may bother some. The hotel sits off the road behind a breakfast restaurant so it provides a noise buffer. I didn't see any obvious evidence of disrepair or lack of attention. The room had a small microwave and fridge BUT no coffeemaker. Coffee was available at the main desk however.

Close to everything!

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Room could have been bigger with a mini fridge to keep our drinks cold, bathroom could have been bigger and when checking out regardless of how I booked the room could have been given a receipt for my total charges so I had documents of what I was charged for.

Run down and dirty with tiny bathrooms

Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: It is a good location, central to everything on Hilton Head.
Cons: The whole place needs a face-lift. Repaint everything, upgrade the lighting, add a refrigerator, hair dryer, and coffee maker in the room.
Is it a step up from Motel 6? I guess so, but not much. No refrigerator, hair dryer, or coffee maker in the room. You have to pay EXTRA to use the room safe. The room wasn't clean, with dirt in the corners, chipped paint, and scrapes on the walls. The wall unit AC was noisy, no central air. The lighting was awful, and made the room very dark. Neither light over either bed worked properly and the fluorescent flickered so badly that it gave my daughter a headache and we had to turn it off. The pillows are standard issue foam, not feather, and not very comfortable. When I made my reservation last fall this was listed as a three star property. It is NOT is is two star at BEST. The current listing is accurate.
