Average to poor remodel of older hotel. No hot water to shower night of arrival, do had to wait until morning. Average breakfast. Wouldn't pay more than $85 a night for this hotel.

quick stay before the flight

Posted Apr 16, 2014
We stayed at La Quinta Inn in April 2014. We checked in after midnight and got on shuttle to the airport at 4:30am. It was a very short stay, but we were very pleased with the front desk person who was very kind and gave us detailed information about rental car, shuttle, airport, etc. The building is old, but the rooms were kept updated. More than enough for what we needed!

Good Hotel for a Layover

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Close to airport with free shuttle.
Stayed at this hotel before and after a cruise. The hotel is clean, inexpensive, and near the airport. You should be aware that the shuttle is shared with Blue Rocket parking and several other hotels. We arrived in Houston very late. I called the hotel to inquire about the shuttle. The person told me where to meet it but since I was looking for a La Quinta Inn shuttle we had to wait much longer. We had to call the hotel again to get the correct information. In the morning the shuttle arrived early but since we had to make so many stops we missed our cruise shuttle. After the cruise we stayed there another night before flying home. Everything went much smoother this time. We were allowed an early check-in and the hotel staff were very nice and polite. There is a convenience store/gas station/Burger King next door but nothing else within walking distance.

Overnight Stop

Posted Mar 30, 2014
This hotel was very close to Houston Intercontinental Airport. Not much nearby for food so will have to relay on delivery if you arrive at night. Front desk person not very helpful, hotel seemed a bit run down. Shuttle convenient, but took a little research on how to pick it up outside of arrivals.

Perfect for a stop over

Posted Mar 20, 2014
We stayed here for a 10 hour stop over. We called on arrival to arrange for the shuttle and it arrived immediately. On arrival staff were very pleasant. The room itself was clean and the bed comfortable. The shuttle was waiting for us at the pre-arranged time the next morning and while it was before breakfast was served (530am) there was yogurt and coffee available.

Not best option near IAH

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Good rooms.
Cons: Shuttle service really not acceptable.
Location: The location is east of the terminal and doesn't have much around it except a gas station/Burgerking.
The hotel and rooms were good. The shuttle service to the hotel was not good. They use a parkng company bus that doesn't go frequently. I had to call twice. Internet in the hotel was slow and hardly useable. The hotel staff did not seem interested in the customers. They weren't bad, but not friendly as one would expect.

Below expected LaQuinta quality

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Located close to the airport
Cons: Cleanliness and customer service need to be improved.
We were disappointed in the quality of this La Quinta. After a long and troublesome flight experience, my spouse and I were exhausted and looking forward to a stay at La Quinta, which usually has consistent quality. Unfortunately, the front desk was under-staffed and we waited to check in, working with a polite, but not friendly, clerk. (Maybe the clerk was having a bad day.) Anyway, the room was disappointing. The sink was clogged, and barely drained at all. We would have requested another room or repair if our arrival was earlier in the day. Also, the tub appeared stained. It was unclear whether the dark smudges were stains or soap scum. At any rate, I had planned to take a long tub-soak, but opted to limit my use to the shower because the tub just did not look clean. When we checked out, we told the morning clerk about the problem, and basically did not get a response. Frankly, no one seemed to care--maybe because the bad weather this winter provided a "captive audience" for this airport hotel. We paid for a fairly expensive room and received low-end-hotel quality--both in cleanliness and in service. I will not return to this hotel.

Close to air port

Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Air port transfer service
Cons: Restaurant near by
Location: Only used hotel for over night on longer trip
Air port transfer was important, we would like to have gad a restaurant attached
