Pleasantly Surprised

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: The plumbing over my room sounded like a jet engine...
Hadn't stayed at one of these properties before, but was looking to save a few dollars. It worked out well and I would return.

The exterior of the hotel was very dumpy. Would not stay again.

Hotel near to the restaurants, stores and parks.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Convenient to restaurants, stores and state park. Working staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is quiet.
Cons: Eating area is a little bit small and crowded when in weekend morning. But it didn't bother us because we took the food and ate in our room.
Location: Hotel is near to different kinds of restaurant, stores, parks, very convenient.
The reason we chose this hotel to stay was it near Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman two state parks. The people working at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. The hotel looks old outside, but I felt it renovated not long ago, felt very comfortable when staying there. If you walk to the right side of the hotel, you can find a Chinese Buffet and Mac Donald; if you walk to the left side of the hotel, you can find a Spicy Asian Szechuan food and Wendy. You also can walk to a Walmart or even to Buttermilk Falls state park. I definitely will choose this hotel again if I go to the same area in the future.

Pros: nothing
Cons: Cleanliness
The enclosed entryway smelled like cigarette smoke. The glass doors and windows looked like they could use a good cleaning. There was a dirty towel on the counter in the breakfast area. The overall condition of the lobby was shabby/grungy. The desk clerk was not there. When he returned, we were not impressed with his unshaven face and lack of professionalism. His attempts at humor were borderline creepy. Our room smelled of mold and mildew. The air vent was coated with dust and rust. We immediately went back to the front desk and told the clerk we could NOT stay there because of the condition of the room. He didn't seem surprised, and told us we could request a refund from Expedia. A horrible experience which left me trembling and in need of a shower.

Out of the way but very good value!

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Hotel shuttle, continental breakfast, and friendly staff.
Cons: Perhaps an elevator for the second floor access. It can be challenging for guests carrying luggage upstairs.
Location: Close to shopping centres and Buttermilk falls. Lots of shopping nearby and several restaurants.
The hotel staff were very friendly and very accommodating to guests. I appreciated the shuttle service offered by the hotel as well as the range of breakfast options. I disagree with the hotel claiming to have a hot breakfast since the only the 'do-it'yourself' waffles were technically 'hot' and the rest of the items were pastries, breads, and cereals. The rooms were clean as was the overall hotel. I think it's very good value for the money. The only problem is that for those without cars accessing the campus and the commons might be challenging. The shuttle is great but runs on a set schedule which may be inconvenient for some. Probably best for travellers with cars.

Good basic motel

Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff. The location in Ithaca. The beds. The shower.
Cons: nothing
Location: It was close to everything we wanted to do.
If you are looking for a basic motel, here it is. We needed a place for one night. The staff was friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived. They gave us directions we needed to get where we had to go. The beds are comfortable. The shower strong and good. Location perfect.

Wonderful staff!

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Room, reception (check-in/out)
Cons: breakfast
Reception staff was wonderful!!! Though the hotel is relatively small-scale but we felt like coming back home. Room was really clean and bathroom/toilet was clean enough. Four girls stayed there and the beds were comfortable too. Overall no negative feeling at all.
