Don't believe everything you readPosted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: Staff very friendly, cost of drinks average, entertainment sounded good (caught the end of it ). Good atmosphere.
Cons: Hotel had all the facilities we needed for a short break. We booked a room only basis as we like to eat out but the food looked very nice.
From the check-in to specific requests this hotel did not fail. The only gripe we had was the view out of the window - roofs and seagulls (obviously the latter couldn't be helped however if my hubby had an air gun it would have been a lot quieter) . Having stayed in loads of hotels over the past 50 years - where en-suite facilities meant a cupboard which required arranging your body in a variety of poses in order to use it - to a 5 star hotel (no way) - the Norbreck falls somewhere in the middle. Size of the room more than adequate, furniture old but still fully functional i.e. plenty of hangers and doors/drawers closed. I bet you're all wondering what the 'specific request' was? Asked the girl in reception for more toilet paper. She rang housekeeping and by the time we reached our room 2 were delivered. That's what I call service! Well done!!!

Ok for the pricePosted Jul 1, 2015
Hotel was what you should expect for the price. Staff were pleasant and check in was quick. Plenty of free parking on site. Room was dated but clean. Could hear every noise in corridor, would not be keen to stay in peak season.

Too far out of the town.Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Our room had plenty of space and a lovely sea view. The room was clean also.
Cons: It needs decorating and modernising.Bring it up to standard.
Location: Too far out for the main resort.
the meals could have been better. The drinks at the bar were far too expensive.

Best part about our hotels was the sea viewPosted May 29, 2015
Room wasn't clean, shower fell off the wall, had air blowing in from outside through the windows. Draws were broken, no information pack about the hotel, and had to pay £2 per person for use of the swimming pool

Shabby but not chic!!Posted Apr 20, 2015
Room really shabby and in need of redecorating, clean enough though with the basics, nothing fancy, got a late deal so no complaints, seems like a lively hotel with plenty going on.

Cheap and cheerfulPosted Apr 6, 2015
Hotel room to hot from pipes running through it. Water leaked through ceiling in bathroom. Fire alarm went off at 23.15 false alarm but no one told anyone what was happening. Lack of security ment drunk people crashing around at all hours. glasses and bottles everywhere. Lack of parking. On the plus side. Staff friendly. Breakfast ok.
