Hotel lovely but room condition poor and overprice

Posted Nov 22, 2014
We paid £146 room only for one night in a premium room. Room was small and window was in poor condition. Cracked tiles in bathroom. Would have expected better for money. Hotel itself is lovely and just a ten min walk into main town area. Did feel ripped off though. Would probably stay somewhere else next time.

Impressive property with real history

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Position, history and presence.
Cons: Whilst the reception has a lot of period features the overall impression could be improved by mood/occasional lighting.
Location: We went to an event at the tower which was a short walk from the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean if a little tired in places. The breakfast was really good with attentive service from the waiters. Receptionists were professional and knew their stuff.

Close to the beach

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Cracked tiles to be fixed and toilet handle fixed...general good maintenance practise.
I had requested a room near to the lift as I do have difficulty walking long distances, we were 1 room from the end of the corridor so almost as far away from the lift as possible. The room we had was a bit 'tired' the window was in desperate need of painting, the tiles on the floor in the bathroom were cracked near the toilet and the handle to flush the toilet was temperamental and thought it could fail at any point. The staff though we're very helpful and pleasant.

Lovely hotel on seafront

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Very good breakfast layout.
Location: Located right on the seafront with a tram stop almost directly opposite for easy access into the town.
All staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is large and pleasing decor. The room was a small double but adequate and spotlessly clean. I would (will) return to this lovely old hotel in a shot.

Really enjoyed our stay here!

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Elegance and friendly staff
Cons: Not much really!
Location: Tower Ballroom Legends Shows Tower Circus Grand Theatre Etc Etc
Elegant old building. The scaffolding on the front of the building did nothing to spoil our enjoyment of this comfortable and welcoming hotel. We were in Blackpool for dancing at the Tower, and had only a short walk to get there. The breakfasts were good, with plenty of choice. We only ate dinner in the hotel one night, and it was also good. We had a premier room, which was very comfortable, everything was there that we needed. All in all would recommend, especially if you want to be a wee bit away from the biz! Also have to say we found Blackpool much improved since our last visit! Absence of litter and rowdy groups was a huge bonus!

Promenade hotel with indoor pool

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly welcoming and very helpful staff.
Cons: Paintwork and wallpaper need redoing badly as cracks in the ceiling paint and damp patches rather obvious. Net curtain needed replacing too.
Location: Ideal for walking north of Blackpool, ideal for a quieter stay in Blackpool
We booked a standard twin, which was fine for our 2 nights stay. Decor very tired and in need of upgrading, but the room was very clean, beds fairly comfy. Bathroom large, though only one set of toiletries for two people which was rather mean. I asked at reception for another set, which was promised, but not acted upon. No shaving mirror, which is an unusual omission these days. Decent breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit, pastries and cooked items; very nice, clean indoor heated pool. Excellent location right on the front, at the quiet end of the promenade. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming throughout. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening, pretty good meal though my pork loin steak was overcooked and therefore tough. Overall, I would stay there again but probably upgrade to the next standard of room if it was for more than one night.

Nicest hotel in Blackpool

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: Good quality and our room included free parking
Cons: The bathroom on room 342 was very cramped with a full size bath leaving almost no room to sit on the toilet. Sink was behind the door.
Location: Handy for just about any Blackpool attraction as you can just jump on a Tram a few steps away.
This is likely the best hotel in Blackpool an has deals that include on site parking. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Located right next to a Tram stop and only a short walk from North Pier it is well situated.
