Good option to expensive Strip properties

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Cons: Rooms clean but in need of an "facelift"
Location: Several restaurants and other casinos nearby
At a very reasonable rate per night, Texas Station represented a value, especially since I didn't plan to be in the room much during my stay. Basic accommodations but clean and well maintained. Top floor room was very quiet. Excellent HD TV with wide choice of channels. No coffee maker. Casino draws mostly locals with a wide variety of machines and table games ( plus Bingo) spread out in a huge facility. I liked the fact that I didn't feel at all "cramped" when playing a favorite machine. Having a rental car a must, since property is 20 minutes away from the Strip and the airport.

Everything under one roof!

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: convenience and choices
Cons: Still hate having to walk through smoke to get to some of the areas.
Location: You don't have to leave the hotel but the Strip is not too far away either.
Nice room & view. Starbucks & several restaurants, and a movie theatre and bowling alley all in the same building! (not to mention the Casino for gamblers) Nice pool, too.

Pros: The bowling alley, swimming pool.
Cons: A better filtration system. Also, enforce the "No Drinking at the Pool" rule that's posted. We had to take a pass twice because of drunks.
Location: We enjoyed our 5-yr-old granddaughter at the bowling alley, Bonner Springs, Container Park, and Lorenzi Park.
We stayed on the 6th (top) floor, the farthest room from the elevator, thereby avoiding the smoky smell while we were in our room. Our room was clean, but one of the beds creaked every time I rolled over. The other bed had a sharp ? sticking out of it which my husband was careful to avoid. We finally helped the problem by stuffing a washcloth over it. The smoky smell was evident in the hallway outside our room, though, and, of course, on the main floor. The Texas Grand Café served a good breakfast with very little smoky smell. The bowling alley was great fun and had very little smell to it. All the other venues in the casino, including Kids Quest, sadly, were way too smoky for me to enjoy myself. Smoke destroys my breathing. Welcome to Las Vegas.

Good location for us, dirty casino

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: parking was convenient. Didn't have to walk far to get to elevators
Cons: Casino needs more attention! Dirty!
Location: not far from Red Rock Canyon, and easy to get to downtown
Texas Station was easy to get in and out of, and convenient to downtown. Buffet had a good selection of average food. Casino was dirty-ashtrays, ashes, etc on the slot machines. Few waitresses at slots. No hot tub. Room was satisfactory

Great hotel and service.

Great hotel and staff. Food at the buffet and the restaurants is good with plentiful servings. The hotel and casino are located far enough away from the Strip to avoid the crowds yet close enough to visit the Strip within 10 minutes.

Nice hotel

The hotel was really nice. The pool was rather small. I constantly heard other hotel room doors slamming though.

Run down hotel.

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: The staff was vey nice.
Cons: Please upgrade! Our room had torn wallpaper and wall corners were very beat up. The bed was hard and sagging. The furniture was beat up.
We were disappointed mostly because the hotel was rather run down and the restaurant food was not so good. The room was not as clean as I would expect for a 3 star hotel. The bed was too hard and the window looked out onto a stucco wall so there was no reason to have a window. The carpet throughout the casino was filthy. Staff was great - accommodating and friendly.

not for the handicapped, at all

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: quiet
Cons: reservation staff- knowledge. cleanliness and room keys that work right
key worked when it felt like it. reservations were NOT adhered to. Had to ask 2xs for a room with roll in shower. Not real convenient for handicapped people.

This hotel is not as comfortable as it used to be.

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The convenience of parking and the amenities such as bowling alley, movie theatre, food court, and Starbucks inside the building.
Cons: Quieter air conditioners, more comfortable beds, better internet service.
Location: The location is convenient to the freeway if you do not want to stay on the strip. Many homeless nearby begging for money,
We have stayed at this facility several times in the past. Although it has nice amenities such as the bowling alley, food court, movie theatre, and arcade it appeared to be more run down since the last time I stayed. The room rates are still affordable but watch out for the additional fee of $15 a day that they will tack on and not tell you about at time of booking. This fee is suppose to cover internet, pool, exercise room, etc. The internet service is terrible, very very slow and not dependable when you are trying to access it. There is an option to upgrade to a faster speed at an additional cost. The buffet food is standard, nothing exciting we only ate at the buffet one time. The pool is not the highlight of the hotel, so if you are looking to spend time by the pool it is very small and is only 4 feet deep. The do offer a lot of penny gambling machines and has a small non-smoking section as well. The rooms are clean but need some updating. The beds are quite uncomfortable and the springs make noise every time you move. The air conditioner worked fine as it was 105 degrees when we were there but is very noisy, which made it difficult for me to sleep.
