Convenience and value in London Docklands

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Better price for room with breakfast than we found any other 4 star hotels in area. Strange entrance, going up in lift to lobby, but otherwise lovely modern design hotel. Easy access to Canary Wharf, good breakfast, situated next to ExCel.

Lots of "added extras" to look outr for

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Complementary water would have been nice - or at least a sign indicating it is chargeable
Location: The O2 is close as the crow flies - as is the cable car across the Thames
Spent the weekend at the O2, ald although really close to the venue the river is in between so expect a 4 mile drive. Parking is an extra £16 per night and breakfast is over £11 as well (if booked in advance) but kids do eat free. There are bottles of water in a fridge with milks for tea/coffee, but without informing you - if you use the water you get charged a mini bar fee. Just be a little careful . They are not complementary. Nice views across the Thames, but you could probably get a better value hotel. The parking area is also very "tight" in terms of available space.

Should b a 4* but in reality i'd give it 2*

The staff were very unprofessional complaining about the hotel and other staff members in front of us. They tried to charge us for a trip to the resteraunt that we never had (they said we had a meal with a child, we don't have kids and our room was booked for just me and my partner). We had room service which although the foodbwas goodbwas ruined by the fact the guy who delivered it winged about the card machine not working then barged into our room to use our phone to phone down to the kitchen and conplain about it. Eventually they took our card over the phone. Half way throught the meal at 11:30pm we got a phone call from the same guy saying he was coming back up because the card was declined! He came back and again the card machine wasnt working eventually we paid with cash which we didnt really want to do but felt like this guy was never going to leave if we didnt. (Card couldnt of been declined because it worked fine the next day) The bathroom had a wierd smell to it as well. Overall for the money we spent i was not at all happy with the service and the stay and will not be going back.

Hotel mit gute Anbindung

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Anbindung

Lovely hotel great location

Nice hotel, spotless, room very spacious and clean. Not a very family friendly environment, going with a two year old, there appeared to be a very corporate feel. Also drinks are over priced at the bar. All in all nice stay

Noisy guests and poor quality breakfast

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Bright, good staff, very clean. Fastest lift in London weeeeeee....
Cons: Noise insulation and the purchasing manger needs to spend a bit more on the breakfast buffet.
Location: Not much in area if Excel closed and very dreary this time of year.
Lovely room, no bath but fine. Very clean and wifi good. Not good insulation between rooms so a very noisy Saturday night. Breakfast not worth the spend - least cost of everything. No fish options. Disappointing. Staff very pleasant.

Comfortable family hotel in docklands area

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Nice location and kids friendly,
Situated in the Docklands area overlooking the (former) harbour. A nice area to go after a day in the busy city of London. Take the Jubilee line (from London center) to Canning Town and change to the DLR line to Royal Victoria station. From there it's a 5 min. walk to the hotel. A long the way you pass two supermarkets. Where you can buy drinks and snacks. The staff is very helpful. They offer nice facilities (i.e. playing corner near the restaurant and computers with internet access) for kids and a kids menu in the restaurant. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Even a bluetooth speaker for playing music from your mobile device is available.
