Very pleasant stay easy commute to cityPosted Apr 17, 2014
Family of 4 stayed in Novotel Excel for sightseeing in London, the room is excellent, very clean, very quiet, bed is firm and comfortable, even the pull out sofa bed very firm. 2 minute walk to tube station DLR Excel station, about 15 -20 minutes to London Bridge. Grocery store close by, not a lot of restaurants to choose from though.

Building sitePosted Apr 13, 2014
Cons: Change the glass panel from the bathroom door. Breakfast - fresh eggs to be added, coffee was disappointing.
Location: Too far away from Kings Cross and centre of London
I will not using again as too far away for us. Didn't like the fact that if have to change lifts twice to get to your room. Rooms too small if you staying with children. The whole area around the hotel looks like a building site. The only nice part you can see it from the restaurant.

No good unless you are going to excel itselfPosted Apr 8, 2014
Booked this hotel as it claimed to be close to Aquatic center. It's not. A good 30 minutes away. Clean but basic...and far too hot. Similar standard to Premier Inn...not what I'd call 4*.

Relatively cheap for LondonPosted Mar 31, 2014
Nice enough hotel and cheap for London. Close to 2 tube stations (on the DLR) . Relatively easy access by road and plenty of nearby parking at the Excel Centre Multi-storey car parks (note also outside congestion charge area). Late night shop opposite for snacks. Easy access to the O2 by cable-car across the water.

relaxing stayPosted Mar 19, 2014
had expected to be close to the O2 & to be fair could see it But had to either fly over or tunnel under Thames to get there. Fear of both! Weather was kind though and did eventually enjoy the cable ride. It's a lovely hotel to stay at and I enjoyed a superior room on my own with bath and shower cubicle. My one negative was that the toilet is situated next to drinks/fridge area without a hand basin. I had to go quite a way to the bathroom to wash my hands after using the toilet. Bad enough for just me but would be a bigger problem had there been four of us as the queen size bed and double sofabed suggests.

Quality HotelPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: See above comments
Cons: small hand wash basin in bedroom toilet area
Location: Although the hotel is a fair way out of the City the public transport is excellent and we appreciated the opportunity to get away from the hustle and
We had booked 4 rooms for my daughter's 21st birthday. When arriving at the hotel we were greeted by welcoming and professional staff who were attentive to our needs in allocating rooms. The standard of the rooms were high. Very clean, very bright and airy. The bathroom was lovely - the lighting around the mirrors appreciated by the girls when getting ready to go to a show, putting on make up.. The separate toilet facility was good idea but a little surprised no hand wash basin in the toilet so had to walk around to bathroom to wash hands - not the most hygienic... Excellent breakfast - good variety of foods and even the bar was not too expensive as far as hotels go.

Stay only if you need to walk to Excel CentrePosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Location right next to Excel Center
Cons: Value. Room design. Food.
Location: Nothing at all nearby, except for the Excel Center for exhibitions/trade shows
I was left with little choice about where to stay after my original reservation at another hotel turned out to be 15 train stops from the Conference Center. Novotel Excel was terrific as to its location, but you pay a premium. That said, the room was just plain weird in design, the food was lousy at breakfast, and the bar menu was adequate. The staff was VERY nice and the WiFi was included in the price. I would not stay there again if I could get another hotel in the same area, which I did later that week.

Ok ishPosted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: The reception was fab and staff seemed nice
Cons: More pillows and milk Hate having to ask
Location: Near O2 and Emirates air line which was fab and made my kids stay even more fun
The hotel was lovely but the room was disappointing. We had family room with four pillows one each! Which is not enough for us and no spares left for you if you need them. Tea coffee was there but no milk had to go get some from reception but the could not fine any so go milk jug with cling film on ! Shower smelled funny but looked clean no mould Would stay the again but would not say it was four star

Solid hotel right next to Excel Exhibition CentrePosted Jan 27, 2014
Pros: This hotel is pretty good. Nice big reception area, friendly staff. Didn't eat at the hotel but it looked nice.
Cons: Only strange thing was that in our room the toilet was in a different room from the sink/shower/bath. Never seen that before.
Location: It's slightly off the beaten track so you need to get the tube to Canning Town then the overground DLR train to Royal Victoria (every 15 minutes).
Hotel is right next to the Excel London, never went there but looks like a big exhibition centre. You can walk to the hotel from Canning Town tube stop which takes about 15 minutes. Also the hotel is close to the Emirates Cable Car ride which takes you over the Thames directly to the O2. Don't know how often these cable cars run and how much though. Overall a handy modern hotel for anyone wanting to stay in near the O2, near Excel London or just a bit away from the centre.
