My room smelled like urine and smoke. Under the sink there was a hole in the wall and plywood. The bathtub faucet was loose and you could pull it out from the wall. Pretty good continental breakfast though - good choices.

hallway smelled like cigarettes

The room was small but comfortable and clean. It was a bit stuffy even with the air conditioner on. The hallway smelled terribly of cigarettes. I choose a non smoking room so I don't inhale second hand smoke and had trouble breathing while walking in the hallway from the intense smell of cigs.

Get a nonsmoking room

This hotel seems ok in the common areas, but the room I had, just at the top of the stairs was smoky, not well cleaned, and could use new light fixtures and electrical work. The lights in the room were really dim when they worked, and at times, it seemed the outlet wasn't working for the lamp between the two beds in the room. The clock radio hadn't even been plugged into the socket at all during my stay, which was a bit odd to me, too. I did have a few hairs in the bathroom and there were cigarette ashes on the toilet seat before I wiped it off when I first got into the room. It was ok, but if it hadn't been a last minute booking, I would hope I would have found a better place to stay for my short work trip to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
