マリーナ・デル・レイのハーバーの温かい雰囲気の民宿みたいなホテル。Posted Jul 27, 2015

Posted Jul 22, 2015

Right on marinaPosted Jul 20, 2015
Rooms on ground level have a patio that is enclosed so you can not walk right onto the beach. I realize this is for security. Air conditioner unit knocked and rattled so sleeping with it on was impossible and sleeping with it off was was sticky and warm. View of marina was nice but hotel needs updating for the price.

Close to the beach, nice staff!Posted Jul 14, 2015
The staff are super nice! Hotel is within walking distance to the beach, probably 5 blocks or so. Right next door to the cheesecake factory however there are also some beach restaurants on the walk to the beach. Thee is a little convince store next door. The breakfast was ok -waffles,muffins,bagels,etc. just something to get you going for the day. The room was comfy and homey. The beds were good. we had a view of the marina and it was awesome drinking coffee on the patio every morning over looking the water! All in all was a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

A great stop over optionPosted Jul 12, 2015
The Foghorn exceeded my expectations. It was great for us as a family stopping over in LAX between two long flights. From the outside it looks dated and a little run down. However the location is excellent, the rooms are clean and have a lovely feel to them also. The little touches add to the experience- great breakfast, dvd library, cookies and pretzels, helpful staff and the softest towels in the US. Another cool thing is that being a small family owned place they can go that extra mile for their customers instead of always towing the company line. The free airport shuttle was awesome also!

Nice views overlooking MarinaPosted Jul 2, 2015
Cons: Wifi was poor in room but ok in lobby. Breakfast was ok for me, but my wife struggled to find gluten and dairy free food.
Location: We spent the day walking around the local marina and beach.
The room had a very nice view overlooking the Marina. While the hotel was an older property it was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We would consider going here again if we had at least a day to spend in area.

Nice hotel, great location. Needs a major overhaulPosted Jun 28, 2015
Lovely staff, great location, but needs a few investors to make this place fabulous. it's time. It's 2015 for goodness sake not 1977.

locationPosted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: The location, and there is a pretty nice lobby.
Cons: The air conditioning in our room wasn't very effective.
Location: I already did, above.
This hotel is very close to Marina del Rey activities AND Venice activities. It's on a little beach and the marina (--of course). There are wonderful restaurants nearby. We especially liked Whiskey Red's, and The Warehouse was pretty good too. We rented a boat and went all around the marina.

Right Hotel, wrong room. Be careful what you book.Posted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: Location, comfort if you have the right room
Cons: Air conditioning a bit past it.
Location: The location has a safe feel for walking the Marina or to Venice. Plenty choice for dining locally.
We have stayed at the Foghorn Harbor twice previously and found it an excellent alternative to the hotels closer to LAX. For this reason we booked it again for the last night of our vacation, planning to spend the evening relaxing on our balcony with a glass or two of wine enjoying the Marina view. We checked in at 2.00 and did no more than leave our suitcases in our room then take a walk to Venice Beach. On our return we went out to our balcony only to find it backed on to the kitchens of the Cheesecake Factory next door and the smells and noise from there made it impossible to enjoy sitting out. Furthermore the dividing wall between the properties cut our view by half. We complained to the front desk and asked for a change of room but were told it wasn't possible because housekeeping had finished for the day. We still rate this hotel, but the moral of the story is - be very sure what room you are getting when you book. Our night was totally spoiled.

AWESOME EXPERIENCEPosted Jun 11, 2015
The Foghorn Harbor Inn was so welcoming - from the staff, to the location, to the comfortable fuzzy white towels and bedding. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful with recommendations regarding the area restaurants and things to do. The owner or manager - Graham - easily changed our reservations by one day when our plane was stranded and we didn't arrive when we were supposed to. They had a water cooler to fill your water bottles for the beach or whenever, fresh coffee always brewed and the breakfast was generous for a continental breakfast. This was a great place to stay with an excellent view of the marina right on the beach. We will definetly be staying here again.
