Mill Valley Motel

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff attitude to guests
Location: Great for San Francisco and Muir Woods
Good location for the City or as stop over. The room was clean and spacious however not enough drawer space for a family room. The floor was swept and not cleaned. Though breakfast was included there was nowhere to eat it apart from our room which was not set up for eatting more than a snack. It was very noisy from people walking on the upper floor and the traffic. Its more to do with the acoustics then people and cars. The main issue was the unhelpfulness of the staff who ran it. They were polite but every request was greeted with 'I dont know'. This is in contrast to the experience we've had in other Motels/hotels. If staying here, ask for top floor room!

Nice hotel for overnight

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: The renovated room.
Cons: Cleaner blankets, more sound - proofing. Coat hooks on wall to hang coats.
Location: Handy location to Muir Woods.
Room was nicely updated but a little small. Went to make coffee in the morning and the coffee filter from previous users was still in there. There were two long black hairs on my blanket when I lifted the top bedspread off. There was also a yellow stain on the white bottom sheet on one side. Not sure if it was just a stain or if the sheets weren't changed. I ended up putting a bath towel over it to sleep on. We had a room on the back of hotel where it was less noisy than front facing rooms toward busy road. No elevator so you have to carry your luggage up stairs to second floor. The walls between rooms are very, very thin!! Unfortunately, we had very talkative people beside us and could hear them talking all evening so was very annoying. You can also hear the water running when shower is on.

Not worth the money even at the discounted price!

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: Great location beside the road noise which there is a lot of. Great hikes close by - close to freeway - near Mill Valley, Sausalito and SF
The room was tiny, paper thin walls, the air conditioning, shower, microwave, and frig were all extremely loud. WIFI was in and out. The topper was major construction going on right behind hotel, giant boulders being moved and crushed, cement trucks making excessive noise, construction works yelling to each other. This all took place from 7:30 until 5:30. No warning was given and the management did not care about the disturbance to guest. When asked for a further discount because of the disturbance the management was extremely rude and flat out did not give one bit that it was an issue. I would never stay in this pit of a motel - America's Best? What a joke - this is AMERICA'S WORST!!!!

Nice Room

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Newly updated room was very nice.
Cons: Exterior
Location: Good stop off coming out of San Fran near Muir Woods and Sonoma Valley.
The newly remodeled room was a pleasant surprise belied by the somewhat rough exterior. We were very satisfied with our value for the price.

This hotel is being renovated.

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: Everything was clean comfortable and it all worked as it was supposed to.
Cons: The bathroom lavatory was modern but hot and cold water were hooked up backward so the sinle lever control had to be turned to the hot side for cold.
Location: Very close to Sausalito, San Francisco, and Napa wine country but far more reasonable than hotels in those locations but only minutes from each by car
I stayed in a newly renovated room on the back side of the hotel away from the the busy highway in front. It was a reasonable quiet room with all new interior. This is not a five star hotel but if one is looking for economical accommodations that are clean and without too many frills, this is the best I have found in this area. I go there often and will definitely stay there again.
