Great location, but hotel needs a revamp

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Great location. Excellent staff service
Cons: Air conditioning system needs an overhaul. Whole hotel could do with renovation
Location: Lincoln Center is accross the street.
Service was excellent, but the hotel is very old.

The room was OK but too much furniture for the size of the room. Very difficult to get to the far side of the bed. Fan in the bathroom too loud. Front desk staff pleasant and efficient.

Great location but Cleanliness is questionable. Don't complain about anything you end up in a room with a view if the garbage chute.

Do Not Stay Here.

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Both the concierge Yuri and Chris are excellent. Knowledgeable about the city and very helpful.
Location: The location is fantastic. Lincoln Center has so much to offer and Central Park and Columbus Circle are very close by.
My husband and I really wanted to like this hotel. Our daughter goes to college in the immediate area and we loved the convenience however, enough is enough. With many stays behind us now, we will not return. The entire hotel and all of it's rooms are dark and dingy. The bathrooms are not well maintained and have visible dust, rust, and damage on their doors and shower stalls. The sinks do not properly drain and the showers continually leak out onto the floor. We have stayed in several different rooms and have experienced the exact same thing in all. The heating/air conditioning units are filthy and barely work. (Again this has been true in all rooms.) The kicker this time is that we were put on the 11th floor. STAY AWAY from that on a Friday and/or Saturday night. On the 12th floor there is a city wide dance/night club and it is incredibly loud from the dancers and their shoes and the thumping music well into the early morning. It caused our room to rumble and shake all night long. We tried to change rooms but were told by the management that they knew about this a problem but no other rooms were available on either of those two nights. These rooms under this club should NOT be stayed in! And the hotel should tell you this in advance. Additionally, there were not enough working elevators and about an average 30 minute wait up or down all weekend. I will add that this was also the case several weeks ago.

Will not book again

Pros: The only positive thing about this hotel for us was its location across from Lincoln Center, as we were in town for several performances at the Met.
Cons: Condition of rooms, amount of light (need more lamps in dark rooms), overcharging for basic amenities.
Location: Great location for Lincoln Center, near Central Park and some good restaurants.
Very disappointed in this hotel at this price range. Room was dark, cramped, shabby, and musty smelling. Our window looked out onto a dirty courtyard with industrial fans. They charged $13 per device per day for very slow wireless service. Wanted $3 per Keurig coffee capsule and $7.50 for a small bottle of water. These are amenities I expect to be included for the amount of money we paid (such as with Kimpton hotels in NYC).

Right next to Central park, 30 seconds to Starbucks, 3 mins to the subway station and 10 or 15 min walk to Times Square

Great location

Cons: Customer service needs improvement.
This hotel is practically across the street from Lincoln Center. I have stayed here twice and in both occasions the rooms have been very small for its category. The Jr. Suite a medium sized room and the standard room was really, really tiny. There are ni ice machines in the hotel and although I was offered to have a bucket of ice delivered to my room, it never came.
