Hotel Anis

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Lovely hotel in a great location, however lacking in room facilities, no kettle in the room, towels were thin and torn, when we asked for an ironing board the hotel staff said they didn't have one. Breakfast was of poor quality, not worth €10 per person. Otherwise nice hotel nice pool

Close to airport and free parking.

Posted Aug 30, 2014
If we weren't just staying a short night with an early morning flight and a rental car I would have cancelled any remaining nights and gone elsewhere. The room was dirty; soap leftover from last guests in shower made us wonder if anything had been cleaned. Clumps of hair on the carpet. Staff was less than friendly and almost rude and seemed put out in the area of any sort of customer service. Restaurant was ok. Neighborhood was kind of seedy. I would not have felt comfortable walking alone in the evening. They did have wifi but you have to ask for it and it only worked when I sat on the floor (which is how I discovered how dirty it was).

Photos are misguiding

The pool is tiny. Shower is tiny, you can barely move while taking a shower. Free parking, but very far from anything in Nice. Staff was not friendly, and even wanted to charge me for just asking for hot water for tea!! Room had airconditioning and free wifi.

Nice small hotel, excellent location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: location, restaurant, ambiance
Cons: nothing
Location: close to everything to do and see in Nice, including airport access ( 10 minutes).
Nice older hotel, excellent location close to airport and promenade des anglais, nice breakfast, helpful and pleasant staff ( I got the impression the hotel was family owned ). Had dinner at the hotel, nice short wine list, very reasonable pricing and quality. nice gardens and patios. what really works for this hotel is the location, ample free parking whilst close to touristy areas of Nice. Would definately stay there again.

Close to the Beach but far from the Centre

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Gentlemen on reception very helpful, lovely food and a nice little pool. The hotel itself too was nice enough.
Cons: A little upkeep poolside, the use of the bar and customer service lessons for the lady on reception!
Location: Obviously not the hotels fault but a little too far from the town centre - sore feet by the end! But close enough to the Prom and beach
A pleasing little hotel, room decor a little dated but comfortable and very clean. The gentleman on the reception and his father who i had the impression owns the business were very welcoming and helpful - the lady who took over in the evenings not so much. A lovely little restraunt and very friendly waitress for who nothing was too much trouble. The bar unfortunately was never manned and one had to rely on reception or go into the restraunt simply to order a drink for the poolside (when you could find them!) During our stay the lady on evening duty at reception was either eating in the restaurant (and we were asked if we minded waiting 5 minutes at one point while she finished!) or watching the tv (world cup). The pool was a lovely little area surprisingly underused by guests, needed a little upkeep but was generally nice enough - although two very tall trees ment you lost the sun much too early and it became cold and in the shade too soon. Overall a very happy stay and were it closer to the town centre I would be happy to stay again - one gripe on our last day we asked the lady on reception to ring a taxi to take us to the airport which she did, she put the phone down and told us there were no taxis!! No explanation and no offer of help only to tell us there was a bus stop down the road, when starting to walk to the bus stop just off the property a taxi passed us going to the hotel! Not amused!

Very rude staff, bar, restaurant closed!!

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The room was cosy and the bed was nice to sleep in.
Cons: Hotel staff attitude, bar to be opened at all times. Staff can take turns to serve, they don't need to close the whole thing down!
Location: The location is nice. Beware taxis are super expensive!
I thought I am pretty easy going, but to be honest with this type of hotel staff, I found it impossible. ALAS, we've spend 7 days there!! Asked the hotel staff to give us a nice room, maybe with a terrace, e-mailed them and they confirmed! When we got there, the staff at the bar told us very rudely that they are closed and will not serve us, almost kicking us out. The woman was literally almost shouting at us that the bar is closed. The restaurant was closed most of the time to be honest. Nothing to drink or eat at the hotel, so be prepared if you want to book here as there is quite a walk to the nearest shop which is Carrefour.

Basic hotel close to the beach

Posted Jun 25, 2014
We stayed here for four nights and booked the hotel mainly because it had a swimming pool and was close to the beach. Our double room turned out to have two single beds pushed together with another single bed in there as well. It was pretty basic with no kettle or tea / coffee making facilities. There was a small TV, a desk and chair, the large wardrobe had two hangers in it so was pointless really. I wouldn't reccomended staying for more than a few nights as the room wasn't cleaned properly, our bed sheets weren't changed and the bath looked like it hadn't been cleaned the whole time we were there. Some of the 'clean' towels had stains/ marks on them. The plus sides of the room was that it had shutters that we're great for keeping the light out if you want a lie in, and that the room had air conditioning which was definitely needed. The pool is small but better than no pool at all. And the hotel does have a restaurant and small bar / lounge area. They also have a banqueting room and a wedding party were staying when we were there. Unfortunately some of the guests liked making a noise and slamming doors at all hours of day and night and there we're some noisy screaming children waking us up in the mornings. Apart from that we had an ok stay. The hotel is about a 5-10 min walk to the beach and is close to shops and some restaurants.

remote hotel close to airport

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: Leaving to go home
Cons: Room soundproofing, more choice on menu apart from ravioli, more staff to serve food and drink as only one person available, choice of drinks not cans
Location: Watch planes too close to airport and 45 minutes from centre of Nice
Clean and tidy hotel with paper walls you could hear conversation next door and also persons using the toilet not very pleasing
