Unpleasant roomPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: It was close to the beach. The parking was easy access to the hotel rooms
Cons: It felt muggy in the halls and breakfast room.
We were given a room on the first floor. We walked in and it immediately had an unpleasant odor. It felt very muggy in the room. The room was badly designed with a large jacuzzi tub in the room taking up valuable space. We felt like we were in an English basement because we were below street level. The ceilings were low and it just felt cramped and dingy. The loud street noise (it's right on the Pacific Coast Highway) kept the 4 members of our family from sleeping much at all the first night. We decided we would leave the hotel after the first very unpleasant night. We called to talk over the cancellation policy as we were booked for 4 nights. The staff was very accommodating and offered to show us 2 additional rooms. One of the rooms was higher up so the street noise wasn't as bad. It was a room for a disabled person so it was larger and allowed more flow in the room. It did not have an unpleasant odor. The staff did not charge us a higher rate even though it had an ocean view. We spent very little time in our 2nd room. It worked for this stay but I would not recommend this hotel.

Great location.Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Location and helpful staff.
Cons: Improve cleanliness in bathrooms, sink areas/plumbing odors. Maybe dehumidifiers, it was very damp. Provide enough towels for the no. of guests in rm.
Location: Across the street from the beach. Many shops, restaurants, places to walk. Laguna Festival of Arts, Sawdust Festival, Pageant of the Masters, Trolley.
Great location and summertime free trolley made transportation easy. Had to change rooms twice due to unfortunate shower location in spa/tub;needed a separate shower. Then had a terrible odor from the sink. Staff was very accomodating and gave us another room but the new room had plumming odors as well. OH WELL. Needed to keep requesting more towels; there were 4 of us and they only provided minimal number. Continental breakfast was available and quite good. Overall a good experience but I think they need to do a little refurbishing for the price.

The hotel was just ok. Easy beach acess across street. Trolley ran every 20 minutes to go back and forth to town. It runs til 1130pm until August 31. It's a little over a mile to restaurants and shopping. I'm not big on the generic breakfast but the cinnamon toast held me over. No charge for parking which saves 20 a night.

PerfectPosted Jul 19, 2014
Close to everything and very comfortable. Surprisingly large rooms for the price and location. Can't beat the pool and the view. The staff was more than helpful in every way.

close to the beach and walk to all must-see sightsPosted Jun 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
The stay was very nice and it is quite an impressive place with an outstanding view of the ocean from the 4th floor room 420 is the best. Except for the jetted tubs, which for an athletic 40 year old were difficult to get into and out of after showering. The room was very nice and maintained during our 4 day stay. Managers were also good but my only compaint is that the bed and pillows are terrible and need to be replaced as I now have severe back pain due to them being WORN out after excessive stays. I would rate my overall experience a 4/5 and would return if those beds are replaced!!!

Nice hotel close to beachPosted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: Its proximity to everything
Cons: I think the breakfast buffet could be improved upon, a little more variety. We had the exact same thing the entire time
Perfect location, close to beaches, dinning and shopping
