A complete disappointment!

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: The location was convenient.
Cons: Improve the WiFi service, replace the staff or train them on customer service, and clean the hotel and pool more than once a month.
Location: The location is close to the 405 freeway, plenty of restaurants, and South Coast Plaza.
This La Quinta falls far from what is expected. The staff seemed bothered when approaching the desk with a question. The WiFi service is slower than dial-up....IF you can get connected. The cleanliness of the outside area is what you would expect from a one-star, backwoods motel. The pool was completely filthy when we initially arrived. Also, expect to find hair on your bed or in the bathroom.

Good hotel close to airport, and UC irvine

An ok hotel for the price. Only had one garbage can in the room. Back side of hotel faces freeway, windows are pretty thin, and can hear the freeway all night long.

Not good.

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Bed was comfortable
This hotel was barely OK. The shower was disgusting, so bad that I took a photo and sent it to my wife. The floor of the tub was more black than white. The internet was free but it was so slow I couldn't watch netflix on my ipad. It was noisy, they allow pets so there were a number of occurrences with barking dogs. One night a car alarm went off for about 20m. While you can't really blame the hotel for this it all ruined my experience. I don't think I'll ever stay at a La Quinta again...

Not the greatest, but descent for a short stay.

Cons: It could use a remodel.
Location: Beach is 20 min and Disneyland is 20 min
This hotel needs a lot of updating. If you are traveling with kids that will need a bath the tubs do not have plugs which was a tad inconvenient being we had a toddler. I had booked a King room non smoking and when we arrived it was not available so we got put in a room with full size beds. If you are just needing a place to sleep and nothing else this is a good hotel and the price is reasonable for the location. 20 min to the beach & 20 min to Disneyland.

It was a quiet location. It was easily accessible from the interstate. Good value. Disappointed in the breakfast. Poor selection and not much room to sit and eat.

Ok, for an overnight stay

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Location and the staff was friendly.
Cons: Cleanliness of the rooms and in the parking areas. Too many cigarette butts all over the place.
Location: Good location as there are many places to eat, just a short drive away. Freeway entrance is closeby. IKEA is walking distance.
I had to switch to another room because of the person in the next room smoking right in front of the door. Front office staff was very helpful and gave me another room. Room was alright, but could have been alittle cleaner (carpet). Bed was not pillowtop and not in the best condition. It actually was sagging in the middle. Hotel is right by the freeway, but noise level was not bothersome. Location is good. OK for overnight stay, but would not recommend anything longer. Staff was friendly, overall hotel conditions need improvement. Cigarette butts all over the parking area.

It's great that they accept dogs but unfortunately the room smelled like dogs.

Half the rooms face the closely freeway

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Inexpensive.
Cons: Nothing-- it is what it is.
First night I stayed on one of the rooms right by the freeway. Unless you are prepared to run your AC at full volume you would hear the roar of cars. Ask for a room on the other side when you book if possible. Towels were clean, just not very nice. Bed was comfortable and bed linens were also. AC worked well, thank goodness.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything from the STAFF to the CLEANLINESS of the rooms!!!! Much improvement needed
Location: We ended up going to the Aquarium by the Queen Mary since we had 5 hrs to kill before we could get into the room. Don't know what others do there.
We arrived at 11 am to the hotel. There were people standing around, all with luggage, waiting to see if they could check in. All of us was told NOT to expect to check in until 3 PM on the dot. We weren't offered a place to store our luggage or "sorry for the incovience"...just come back at 3:00. We found something to do until 2:45. When we arrived back to the hotel, we were told no rooms are available til 3pm and to wait for them to check us in. We were 1st in line, there were 5 people in back of us standing in the middle of the small space they have to eat for bkfst. At 3 on the dot, they checked us in. Never have we had to wait til exactly 3 PM at ANY hotel! Not accommodating to the customers. Pool was dirty inside & around the pool. Bathtub was black, carpet was dirty....rooms need an overhaul! Hotel staff doesn't look/respond to you when you are waiting to check in, you practically have to lean over the desk to get them to talk to you. Not a friendly/customer oriented atmosphere. LOTS of room for improvement. It would be nice if they would say "hi or acknowlege you when you come thru the doors instead of ignoring a person" and it would be nice if they would even "offer" to store your luggage until your room is ready like every hotel I've ever been to.
