Convenient location

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Its location and helpful friendly receptionist.
Cons: The lobby and unfinished look. Not sure how much influence it has on its neighbours but the hotel would benefit from having a more prosperous look.
Location: Short walk to variety of cafes and restaurants and tourist sites.
Lovely helpful receptionist. But unattractive, dusty lobby gives the impression the hotel seems unloved. Also abandoned restaurant (with broken windows) and empty video shop either side of hotel entrance is initially very off-putting. However, location is convenient for metro (around the corner) and only a short walk to Les Halles and the Pompidou Centre. Seine and the Louvre an easy walk down the Boulevard de Sebastapol.

Pros: All of the receptionists were fabulous! They truly did provide and answer all of our questions and requests-and we truly had many!
Cons: Nothing, really. The place will be superb once the renovations are complete. We did miss the free continental breakfast that we are used to at home.
Location: This hotel is situated perfectly for exploring all of Paris! You can use the Metro, Bus or walk to MANY major attractions such as the Louvre.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but we were never interrupted by them. The entire staff was extremely helpful as we do not speak French and they ran interception for us from travel arrangements to special information on things to do in the area.

Hotel stinks and is under renovation

Posted Jul 30, 2014
The smell of paint and chemicals are very annoying and construction workers active. The hotel staff do not even apologize for these conditions.

Not up to expectation of Best Western hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The staff on the desk were friendly, and helpful
Hotel rather out of the way........ took at least 20 minutes to walk to the Louvre. There was a room service menu in our room, which said it was available 24 hours a day, but when we asked we were told that it wasn't available that day. There were dark drip marks on the tiles in the bathroom when we arrived...... they were still there two days later. The café attached to the hotel was under renovation, as was most of the hotel rooms and corridors.

Excessive noise due to renovation

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Positives- Beds were comfortable, room was clean and staff was friendly. Overall, a good experience but there were some issues. Negatives- We were told there would little noise due to the renovation being done, but around 8am the next morning there was drilling and hammering non-stop. I understand you're renovating but it should not be done at 8am. Also, wifi was hit or miss. Signal dropped frequently and made you sign back in too many times. Lastly, showers were very strange, doors didn't enclose the shower fully so water went everywhere.

constructive observation

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: the room was nicely refurbished bit so small!
Cons: Stairwell, lift & foyer were a war zone!
Location: Location was good
Looked like a war zone! No facilities in the foyer! Under complete re construction Pleasant staff, but for a first stay in Paris very disappointing! Pictures can be supplied if necessary.

Great location for Eurostar travellers

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: It will be nicer when 1st floor building works are completed - but they weren't intrusive at all.
Location: See above
Ideally situated only 3 stops from the Gare du Nord. Easy walking distance to the Marais, Les Halles, Hotel de Ville, the Places de la Republique, des Vosges and de la Bastille. Perhaps not ideal for first time visitors looking for the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Champs Élysées but if you have discovered the many delightful small restaurants and street markets of the 4th and 9th arrondissements you will be very happy here. Lovely staff for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. - a rare treat in Paris. Bar directly opposite was even better!

Decent hotel in a convenient location

Posted Jun 19, 2014
The hotel is located within walking distance from the Strasboug-St. Denis metro station. From there, Notre Dame and the Lourve are within 10 minutes by subway. Rooms are clean and comfortable but the amenities are limited and the lobby and corridors were under renovation at the time of our visit. The immediate neighborhood is not very family friendly.

Super Clean Super Friendly Colorful Neighborhood

Posted May 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Best service that I've had at a hotel in Europe. The bathroom was nicely sized. The room was updated and comfortable. The access to the subway was without compare. There is an ok crepe place across the street, a couple of brasseries, and there is a lot of "color" in the neighborhood - e.g., interesting people.
