Good locationPosted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: Location, rooftop seating area.
Cons: Cleanliness, no handsoap in the toilets on the ground floor.
Location: There is so much to do in this location, just get a decent map.
The hotel was in a good location, however we asked to be moved on the friday, at 12.30am, due to loud music from an apartment across the road from our room. The reception told my husband 'Well it is Friday night and you are in Paris' !!! Some of the items in the room were not cleaned properly i.e. glasses and cups. The most stupid item was in the bathroom which holds the shampoo etc, had to put it on the floor as it was so bulky. But all that said, we had a great time and I love Paris.

Holiday Inn - impossible to use tiny bathroom.Posted Apr 1, 2014
Cons: Enlarging the rooms, bathrooms by a few feet.
Location: many fine restaurants, cafes, sights, underground and trains. Loved St. Michell. Charming.
Location in St. Michel is perfect. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom horrid! No bigger than a small coat closet. Staff friendly. Charges to get us a cab to the airport was outrages however. Breakfast expensive and not much. Would never stay there again. Lots of other hotels same or less expensive to stay. The closet to hang our clothes was small and no drawers in the room. We stayed 6 nights and couldn't wait to get out of that hotel.

Great locationPosted Mar 11, 2014
We were a party of 6 ranging in ages from 36 to 86 and the hotel was ideal. It is moments from restuaruants, bars, shops and both the RER and Metro stations. It can be a little noisy at night with the window open but the rooms have air conditioning so if you shut both windows it is barely noticable. The rooms were very nice although my dad wasn't keen on the dark decor, they are also a little small but you have to accept this in a city hotel in an old building. The hotel has a roof terrace which has a great view of the Paris skyline and a clear view of the Eiffel tower, we were there in March and although the weather was great it would have been nice if there had been paio heaters up there. All in all I couldn't really fault the hotel, the staff were very friendly and attentive and the location is excellent. I would definitely go back.

Pleasantly surprisedPosted Jan 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was overall very happy with my stay here. Couldn't beat the location and the room and hotel were both in outstanding shape. Clean, modern and conveniently located in just a few blocks from Notre dame. Although the roof top bar was closed because it was winter, the view up there was beautiful. The only hick up was at the bar in the lounge, keep having problems with the bar keep leaving and having to call someone to cash us out. Other than that, the staff was very nice and courteous. I would recommend it.

Brilliant location but strange room layoutPosted Jan 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
For our 6th anniversary, we wanted somewhere pretty special to stay over New Years, but on a bit of a budget given we were only staying in Paris for 5 nights of a 6 week holiday through Europe. We chose Holiday Inn because the price was a bit less than competing hotels for the size room you get. We upgraded to a larger room with a view and to our surprise it turned out to have a wonderful view if the Eiffel Tower in all it's glory. Pro's: - Great view - Fantastic location (in heart of St Germain shops, cafés, restaurants ( note mostly creperies but that's ok by me!), galleries, fashion etc - lovely & welcoming service - comfy beds - clean bathroom & quality decor (too much purple for my liking but that's just personal taste!) Cons: - odd shaped room meant odd furniture layout. Although our room was quite spacious, there were too many chairs & lamps for the space which meant we could not fit our 2 x suitcases without making the 'lounge' area completely unusable - strangely, the large flat screen tv was placed in the middle of the only table in the room and completely covered our view of the Eiffel Tower when you were lying in the bed, let alone made the table also unusable. We thought it disappointing that the tv wasn't mounted on the available wall on the opposite side of room, so we could actually enjoy the gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower & neighborhood - a very minor thing, but the flapping sound of the construction sheets hanging off the next door building did make for a couple of restless nights sleep - hopefully this is a temporary issue - one of my pet hates - the bathroom has a huge window to the lounge/bed. I've never understood this trend. I don't want anyone watching me go to the toilet & I don't wish to see other people going to the toilet either! Even if it's my partner, I just think using the bathroom should be more discreet. Luckily there was a blind to cover, but the door was still frosted glass and had huge gaps so wasn't sound proof at all. When you are lying in bed, the sound of someone peeing (or something else!) 1 meter away from you is not my idea of a pleasant experience (is it just me? I know it's a big trend at the moment...) - our biggest disappointment though that needs a big mention is the room service - DON'T DO IT. If we hadn't ordered room service on our first night, I probably wouldn't have even mentioned all the above smaller issues as overall our experience was still great, but oh the quality of the food was absolutely horrendous! It would have to be one of the worst meals we've ever had. I ordered the pasta (made fresh in house) with the tomato & basil sauce, the soup & burger. Meals arrived with no covers on them so they were stone cold within minutes. The soup was flavourless & bland. The pasta was served as plain (cold) pasta in a bowl with a tiny jug of sauce - which literally had the consistency of water, looked like water and tasted like water with a hint of tomato juice. No cheese, no salt, no pepper. I had to pour some of the soup over the pasta in an attempt to make it have some sort of flavour but it was still terrible. Such a shame as the pasta itself was quite nice if it were hot, and just tossed in some butter or oil ...or something, please! Being room service too, of course the price tag was big so that didn't help. Some warm plate covers, and simple condiments (salt, pepper, oil) would have improved the meal at least a fraction, so hopefully my post here will influence that - hint hint Holiday Inn :) Overall summary: Although the room service was a major let-down, everything else really was good and overall we had a fantastic time in Paris. The location really wins over everything & the price of the hotel is very reasonable for the style of hotel it is. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a bit of a budget but still after a quality hotel with more space than a lot of its competitors, in a bustling & exciting location. Eat out of the hotel & you will have a great time! Also to note the cafe right next door to the hotel does a lovely breakfast & a 'fairly' good coffee (being Australian working next to some of the best cafés in Sydney, you really can't compare the coffee of Europe to the Aussies! Hopefully one day Europe (& the US!) will realise how much better coffee can be & how good a flat white or piccolo is!). Thanks for listening, Paris really is a wonderful place to visit ...and potentially live one day!

Much better than expected.Posted Jan 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were 2 couples that went to Paris for a weekend. We all thought the hotel was perfecxt for what we needed. The rooms were a decent size and we had balconies overlooking the Eiffel tower in a distance. The beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed good nights sleep. The buffet breakfast was adequate, a bit of everything. We will stay in this hotel again.
