Great hotel for a few days in PhillyPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Modern style but with a friendly welcome
Cons: Finish the refurbishments and keep on top of the upkeep.
Location: Couple of blocks from City Hall and very close to the lovely Chestnut Street shops and eateries
Fantastic welcome and very helpful staff (we had quite a few pieces of luggage). Lots of information and brilliant concierge service in terms of advice on what to do and where to eat. Very comfortable room, extremely clean as newly refurbished. Still working on some floors but we weren't affected by this. Nice bar area with some nice food and drink choices. Could be improved with some smaller appetisers. Bar staff always welcoming. Nice pool area 8 floors up - pool is cold and refreshing! We had a great time exploring the city on a few very hot days. Sonesta on Market and 18th is a great location. Definitely recommended and would happily return on another occasion.

Nice- but too much constructionPosted Jul 21, 2014
There was a lot of construction at the hotel. The rooms had a very chemical smell that was overwhelming. Staff was great, and I am sure after construction it will be much better.

Great service and beautiful rooms!Posted Jul 13, 2014
Location: Great location, nearby a lot of bustling Philly life.
The inside of the hotel is absolutely beautiful, though the outside was under construction when we were staying there. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and gave us everything we needed and they even had a staff member come to our room to help a friend hook his PS4 up to the TV! Only downfall was that I had chosen a room with two queen size beds and somehow the hotel was overbooked and they gave us a room with one king size bed, which wasn't preferable for 3 of us to share. They did bring up a rollaway bed which was much higher quality than any other rollaway bed I've seen and was quite comfortable. To make up for giving us a wrong room, they gave us free valet parking which would normally cost $60 a day. Great service!

Great Customer ServicePosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The decor and friendly staff.
Location: We walked to Rittenhouse Square and had dinner at a restaurant recommended by someone at the hotel. It was really nice.
My sister recommended I try a Sonesta Hotel since we travel a lot for rowing and she's a big fan of these hotels. I was disappointed when we first came to hotel at 6pm and were told that our room still wasn't ready. We were hot and tired from being at a regatta all day. We waited about 45 minutes and when my husband went to the front desk, to inquire about when we would get into our room, we were given an upgraded suite and free breakfast! My daughter was ecstatic since she had her own room. They took what could have been a bad experience and really turned it around. The room was really pretty and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Convenient locationPosted Jun 30, 2014
I have enjoyed staying at the hotel for two nights. I could walk from the hotel to museums, Chinatown, restaurants, Amtrak station, and other places.

Away from HomePosted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: The spacious bed
Cons: The parking rates and offering more television channels.
Location: great walking distance to the different shopping and food areas
My husband enjoyed our stayed at that Sonesta Hotel. I had to handle some business. My only reccomedation is the hotel should offer their guest at least one movie channel. Morevoer, the parking is expansive $38.00 to $48.00 dollars a day.

Stay at sonestaPosted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is going thru a renovation. There us no lobby and the elevators are barely working. The rooms are adequate. We did have a nice stay in Philadelphia however. I believe that when renovations are complete the hotel is quite adequate and I would go back.

Good location for our meeting, but that's it!Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect for our meeting next door.
We weren't told the hotel was under construction - including having check-in/check-out in a meeting room on the 2nd floor. Staff was fine, room was "ok" (very, very tired - but, presumably, that will improve). Bathroom lighting was very poor. A colleague had one of few new rooms that had been already renovated. Her room door lock didn't work, nor did her outlet in the bathroom. Hotel "compensated" for the construction by offering free wi-fi. Nice gesture, but ...???? Hotel compensated our colleague (the one with the door that, unbeknownst to her, didn't lock) with a $50 room discount. Discount was nice, but we didn't think they recognized the magnitude of the miss on having guests in rooms that don't lock and/or don't have working outlets where necessary. Might have potential to be a good hotel once the renovation is complete, but I don't feel any reason to give them another try.
