Slummy, dirty, smells

Posted Feb 19, 2015
For 70 bucks I was expecting more. Stains on carpets, cig smoke everywhere. Like a rundown apartment complex. Phone in room did not work, shower mat was peeling up from tub. Still wishing for a refund. Trust me and skip this hotel!

Horrific and affordable

Faulty plumbing, frightening neighbors, and an elevator that without any notice will malfunction with people inside

I stayed 2 nights and both nights were bad.

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: The Ac and heater units work very well and it has nice shower heads.
Cons: the facilities need allot of work there was one room with whole doorknob ripped off with about 5% of the door with it. my room had many minor issues.
Location: The hotel is kind of on a backstreet but very close to freeway and main streets. make sure to study a map first or use gps or you might drive past it.
The first thing I noticed was there was no blanket or comforter. Its winter in Reno, NV and no Blanket. I was later told the mattress topper was considered the blanket and there was a sheet under it but Ive never seen a hotel do that. Anyway both nights were bad. The guests were noisy and had scary names like "Sneeky Pete".

An unusual arrangement

Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros: Free breakfast and WIFI, and proximity to freeway.
Cons: Hallways need major renovation. Better communication to guests about the availability of specific amenities, e.g. shuttle isn't available on Sun. eves
Location: Nothing worth noting close to hotel. Casinos, several museums, the airport and U. of Nevada Reno are only a short drive. Lake Tahoe is less than 1 hr.
Lobby is small but comfortable. Hallways are well worn, and not inviting. Room was updated and clean, and included a mini-frig and microwave. The breakfast is free. One can eat at either the Baymont or the adjacent Lexington, but only the Lexington serves eggs and sausage. Monday morning checkout was accomplished at the Lexington, as the Baymont front desk was not staffed.

I'd rather sleep in my car

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everyting
Location: The hotel has easy access to main boulevards and freeways
The hotel was definitely used and abused. Apparently they shut the front desk down and you're stranded after 11PM. We needed to get management to quiet the people down next door since they decided to watch TV at top sound levels starting at 1:30AM, the breakfast area looked like a college dorm food fight. I had to get after the manager twice to get the noise to settle down and he got irriitated at me. The door cards wouldn't read for a number of customers (mine worked) and they were stuck there for about an hour waiting for maintenance to come back with the van. Seriously this is a feabag hotel to avoid at all costs. The place is the equivalent of a hardsided tent. Sleepless in Reno

rude management

Posted Jan 4, 2015
We stay here often and have had many wonderful experiences. However, we have never been insulted like this. Hot water piped froze and needed maintenance. No problem. However, the maintenance guy came back in the night and simply tried to enter the room. We did not hear a knock. We were sleeping. We woke and told him the problem was fixed and we assured him we would turn the water on a little all night so it wouldn't freeze again. When my wife tried to explain her fright at the attempted entry the manager (next door at the Lexington) he ignored her, then disbelieved her story, saying he was sure she was mistaken.

Cheap, but not clean

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Cost. Microwave and refrigerator. Included breakfast. Front staff ws great.
Cons: Starting to look run down and room was not clean.
Location: Right by GSR. Centrally located.
Staff is great but facilities are getting run down and it looks like housekeeping has given up.

Cheap, but the room was not clean.

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Great price. Included breakfast. Close parking. The staff is very nice and helpful. Microwave and refrigerator included.
Cons: CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. A little maintenance wouldn't hurt either.
Location: Heart od reno so you are close to everything. The freeway is maybe two blocks away.
Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was fully booked and the included breakfast, each morning, was a mess. The workers did their best, but they were constantly out of everything including places to sit. If they know the hotel is packed, they need to plan and have more workers. Although, the room rate is low and includes a decent breakfast. Internet: does not work well, even when the hotel was not full. Two out of our four nights there was no hot water. When my son took a bath the water was warm and the bath mat floated up constantly. It looked as though it had been glued down with Elmer's glue because it was floating up in the bath water and I had to scrub it out of my child's hair. The shower nozzle pointed at the side of the shower so I had to press myself up against the wall to shampoo. The room was not clean. Really, we have been going to this hotel for 5 years and it gets worse each time. The sheets were clean, but there was food splattered on the headboard. It looked like something greasy had been splattered all over the drapes and it had red spots in it as well. I am hoping that it was marinara sause because there was a large blob of red stuff on the right bathroom sink handle as well. There were many spots on the walls and messes on the floor. etc. However, the quarter of a piece of bread on the floor by the heater that was there at check in was a clear sign that housekeeping has given up. It remained in the same spot for our 4 night stay.

Next time I would stay in a Casino.

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: Contential breakfast was decent. TV was good. bed comfortable--clean room. Decent shower.
Cons: --pillows cheap. Bathroom and room overall room way too small. No View- a brick wall would have been an improvement. hallways stink -smell of mildew
Location: a few casinos--that what I was there for
Next time I would stay in a Casino. Overpaid for a 2 star motel. Old motel with a cheap makeover. They Slapped a coat of paint on it. Fixed up the lobby. Breakfast was not bad- alot of choices but maybe because it was Saturday. Fairly nice eating area in hotel next to mind.

Last stay ever, after several!

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Specious room and comfortable beds
Cons: Carpets replaced, crack down on smoking, management of people loitering
Location: Very close to airport and a lot of fast food establishments
I travel often to the Reno area, and always for extended stays. I have stayed at this property several times, and always come back for the good value and room comfort. However, it has gone downhill and I shall not be returning. The hallways are very dingy and smell heavily of smoke, even on non-smoking areas of the building. There also seem to be shifty characters wandering both the building and its parking lot on a regular basis. On a positive note, the rooms are spacious and beds comfortable, but the carpets desperately need replaced throughout and the management needs to address the issues of people smoking illegal things and loitering in the parking lot, making the entire atmosphere seem questionable (to put it nicely!). Just not a relaxing place to be, and I am sad to say this traveler is no longer a customer.
