Weekend Stay

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of choice. Central location that was close to the massive Saturday market
Cons: The only thing that let it down was that the Air conditioning was useless even if you had it on full power - making for a very hot room
Location: Waterbus to Dordrecht Rotterdam Tower Cube houses
Long weekend break in Rotterdam as the central base. Easy transport links from Rotterdam Airport.

Nice hotel in a quiet area

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: the competent friendly staff, the new bed, the location, the breakfast,
Cons: The slamming doors to the rooms. And the noise from the marbled floor near the elevators.
Location: Great location. Quiet street, grocery store close by. Shopping and restaurant area within walking distance, as well as the famous cube apartments.
This was a very nice hotel in Rotterdam. Staff at the hotel were friendly and very accommodating. The room was clean, but quite small, and the bathroom standard. It was nice to have some chairs to sit in, and internet access at no charge. Our room overlooked the lovely street below, and we were surprised at how quiet it was. While we were settling in, we received word that, on the following day, new beds were going to be delivered to the rooms. Good thing. The original bed was not comfortable, but the replacement bed was excellent. The biggest negative to this hotel is that the doors to the room are very heavy, and they slam when they close. Even with care to close the door gently, it slams. As a result, we were awakened throughout the night with slamming doors. The breakfast was delicious and varied, and served in a sunny, welcoming room. The location of this hotel is excellent. It is 2 blocks from the Rotterdam Blaak station, and it is very easy to maneuver suitcases on the pedestrian walks that lead to the hotel. There is shopping, restaurants, and places of interest within walking distance, and ready access to the Rotterdam Central station via Metro and trams.

Pros: none
Cons: the room quality and the location
Location: no clear directions how to get there from the airport. Not that central ( good 20 min walk)
The room was not very clean and outdated. There was a broken soap pump in the shower and the toilet had a bad odour . The bed ( 2 single put together) is uncomfortable as well as the pillow. No hot water during the day as some maintenance work. The staff was very nice and friendly but unfortunately they cannot make up for a poor quality of the hotel. Not a 4 star hotel ( maybe 2-3). So if you are looking for a 4 start hotel choose another one. If you are on a budget you are better off staying in a motel for less money.

Excellent value for money

I had a very good stay. The hotel personnel is very friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel is outstanding and close to some of the very important sites in Rdam, and close to one of the railway station.

A very nice hotel

Posted Aug 16, 2013
Pros: Staff was the nicest of all hotels we visited this summer (over 3 weeks).
Cons: Contemporary fixtures look good but don't hold well. Press a soap dispenser and it will fall down. :-(
Location: Good location - close to the most attractive areas.
It's a vey nice hotel but bit pricy for what you get.

Think twice as there are more around!!!

Posted Jun 18, 2013
When checked in I thought that things looked somewhat familiar, noteably the miniscule lifts either side of stairs when you come in. I stayed here a few years ago whilst under a different name 'Eden'. These are just about big enough to travel alone with your luggage. They have nothing on the showers though!!! I am a mere 5'8" and could barely move inside it and likewise close proximity of WC to the shower leaves little room. Room fronted the street and was noisey until quite late and balmy evening meant I needed window open for som fresh. Can't say I noticed if air con insatlled, I think not. Breakfast was bland and limited. Bar staff apathetic, when he was there! Only plus would be fairly central location and short walk to waterfront bars. I won't stay again as when on business I like to go to work having had a good wake up balst in shower not worry about banging elbows and knees on the cubicle. Enough said.
