Great location, quaint Mexican decor, courtyard a bit noisy as this complex is ideal for families with children. Property well kept but could use minor updates; paint, light fixtures

Restaurant area was loud early in the morning cleaning and setting up. Workers were profane in speech which was unsettling at 7am. Small room, little amenities. Close to everything. No on-site parking, had to self park in the surrounding neighborhood. Don’t think we would stay there again.

Being located in Coronado, I felt very safe at Cordova. The building itself has paper thin walls so good luck getting any sleep lol. Our front desk concierge walked my partner and I to our room and checked to make sure everything was in order. It was classy but also a bit odd as we’ve never had this experience before. The best part of the hotel is its location because it’s a tad bit run down being over 100 years old and not fully repaired. Overall the experience was pleasant and I don’t regret going there, but I’m not dying to stay again.

The front desk person was not very friendly and when I approached him to ask how much it would cost for one night he quoted an expensive price. Thankfully I came to my senses and checked Expedia where the price dramatically dropped in half. When I returned back to him with a confirmed room he didn’t even address the elephant in the room, which was that crazy price he quoted me. I’m sure he has to quote walk ups one price and online is different but it could’ve been addressed to make it a more pleasant experience. Your room looks out on a rooftop of a courtyard restaurant: Miguel’s. At night you’ll hear the diners eating, etc. and in the morning you’ll be regaled with the singing (and talking) of the maintenance men getting the courtroom restaurant ready for the day. This was at 7:02 AM! The rooms do have a kitchenette but the room is crazy tiny! It felt more like a studio than a 1 bedroom. Bed was ok comfort but nothing special. This is not a luxury stay despite the upscale area so please be forewarned. Good place for one night only.

The property is basically a one bedroom apartment. It’s small but good and has access to a pool and restaurants in walking distance.

It’s cute hotel, but a little bit noisy, because in the middle of resort is a Mexican restaurant.

I wanted to love this hotel, but it leaves a lot to be desired. I will say that the staff was friendly and very accommodating, and the location on Coronado Island was perfect. Unfortunately, our room and the common areas need a lot of work. As others have mentioned, the decor is dated. The sofa bed in our room was covered in a plastic material instead of fabric, so was not comfortable for lounging. The tile in the bathroom and kitchen were dated, worn, and cracked in places. Tiles in the courtyard were broken off in places, making things look run down. The bedroom ceiling had large cracks in it, and some holes which had been cut and left open. Our biggest complaint is that the fiberglass tub had an 8 inch crack in the bottom which had been sloppily repaired and had broken open. Our feet kept sinking into the cracked area, I honestly can't believe they are renting the room to anyone with the tub in this condition. The entire experience brought the quality of our vacation down. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The hot tub was broken, no drinking water so you would have to buy your own. Rooms are small and dark but decent for sleeping and the area was good. Parking is a challenge unless you want to pay $40 to park.

Quaint and very rustic property with guestroom and common areas that exzude the same sentiments of old spanish town living. We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite upon our check-in. Our room is spacious with a small dining table and a full little kitchen. Water pressure from showers can be improved, extra door chain lock and some pest (cockroaches) extermination would be great.

Excellent location near the beach and Del Coronado . Historic property, picturesque. Housekeeping service was poor Available on request but did a poor job the one day out of 6 we asked for services. Final morning I discovered a large cockroach in the bathtub/shower. I am glad my wife did not encounter it. I chose not to tell her about it. Room was quite small, amenities lacking. Hot tub not working and apparently this has been the case for a few months according to other reviewers. In SanDiego/Coronado to attend an annual national medical conference. Will not return.

El Cordova stay
This place looked so cute and is in a great spot but my room was right next to a very loud Mexican restaurant in a courtyard. I could hear everything including right into the room next door, plus the windows faced the very busy street outside. So I did not get much sleep. I asked for another room but they said it would be an additional cost. In addition the room was not clean at all.

Excellent location with lots of places in walking distance. Staff was cool and the property was pretty clean. The pool area was kind of small and weird but other than that no complaints. I'd stay there again and recommend it to friends.

Front desk is very friendly! Hotel is quaint, 1930s mexican tile in the bathroom … historic! Downstairs apt are equipped with everything you could need to eat in or stay for a week. King bed firm. Will come again. Conveniently located across street from the Del Coronado, beach and best shopping.

The best place to stay in Coronado. Quiet and convenient, close to everything that makes Coronado special with an outstanding staff on all levels. We stay there a couple of times a year and we’re going back in March. Go!
