Perfect location!Posted Mar 28, 2015
First, the location of this hotel was absolutely perfect! We were a 15 minute walk to the wharf, we could walk to China Town and to the Coit Tower. We bought a 2 day big bus pass and there were 2 stops very close as well. Starbucks was 2 blocks away as was a Wallgreens, bars and restaurants were within a block... everything you could possibly need/want was close. The hotel staff was super helpful and gave us a great discounted price for the 2 day bus pass. The only thing that wasn't comfortable for us was a very squishy bed. It was not firm enough for back issues.

This is a good hotel with comfortable king bed and nice shower. Good enough to spend the night in San Francisco with an affordable price.

Pros: Location and friendly staff ( Marshall is the best! )
Cons: Wi-fi signal could use some improvement
Location: The location is great, you are right at Polk Street which offers a large selection of resturants, bars, coffee and pizza shops.
We were guests at the hotel for two weeks,we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent ,we were able to walk to Fishermans Wharf , Chinatown and North Beach and always felt safe.

All I neededPosted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Hosts were very good and the location was ideal - could have paid a lot more to be nearer the town center/ piers, but we didn't feel the need to.
Cons: Breakfast should be available for all ( ran out of yoghurt if you were late !)
Location: Located on Broadway, nr Polk St which has a large variety of eating establishments / bars. 15 minute walk through tunnel to China Town. Buses on Polk
We travelled from NZ and arrived frustrated (by the airport shuttle) and tired. Hosts were very welcoming and full of information for us. We did not inspect the room with a fine tooth comb - it was clean, had a large comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. (This is not a 5 star hotel so don't judge it as one !) No noise form the street apart from the occasional sirens / horns from vehicles. The breakfast was sufficient although you had to be up early to get the full ration, and the location was handy to China town. The hosts helped us with transport / restaurant facilities locally. Also told us where not to go ! All in all I would recommend this motor inn.

The hotel was in a pretty good location.Posted Mar 12, 2015
Location: The hotel is close to just about everything via walking and cabs
The hotel is centrally located. Walking and cab rides to most places. It's an older Hotel but offered what we needed. The hotel staff were really nice and accommodating. Park was tricky but it's San Francisco so that was expected.

Clean, Convenient, Friendly StaffPosted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: The room was extremely clean and came equipped with an iron, a hairdryer, plenty of clean towels, hangers, an iron, and a refrigerator.
Cons: They could do a better job of checking for missing/not working light bulbs. Not that big of a deal though.
Location: Near several MUNI stops. Nick's Crispy Tacos is practically next door. China Town/North Beach is within walking distance.
The room was clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Great Location and Helpful StaffPosted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Number One would have to be Location.
Location: Lots of coffee shops and little restaurants nearby. Union Street within walking distance. we also walked to Ghirardelli Square and Fishermen's wharf.
Spent a long weekend in San Francisco with my 10-year old daughter. We used public transportation throughout our stay starting with the BART from the airport to Powell/Market, then the 27 bus to the hotel. My daughter loved the old-fashioned elevator that took us to our room. The room with the Queen-size bed was clean and perfect size for the two of us. I usually bring slippers to any hotel because I don't like my feet stepping on "public" carpets. Each hotel room is accessed from the outside hallway/gallery which made for somewhat of a noisy night because of street traffic. Hotel staff was very helpful giving us maps and telling us where to go and what areas to stay away from. There are several breakfast places and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. We never felt unsafe in the area. I would stay at Castle Inn again and recommend it to my friends and family
