Nice staff, excellent location, renovated rooms.Posted Jul 30, 2015
Cons: Breakfast items
Location: Restaurant from all over the world, e.g Indian, Pakistani, and Mediterranean, Masjid is by, Bus tops are close by,gelato Ice cream is close.
There should be a curtain between sink and room, the light was disturbing any time somebody was using that area. Breakfast was good, but they should have different items, like alternate danish for donuts, and apples for bananas, and yogurt for cheese.

Very disappointing. Good location but that is all!Posted Jul 30, 2015
Good location! That the only positive thing that we can say about the hotel. Very expensive for the quality of the room and the breakfast is a joke.

Great location, but ...Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location and parking.
Cons: Rooms need updating for the price charged. Should be <$200/night.
Location: Great Location. Close to Russian Hill, Lombard & Hyde street, Union Street Restaurants and Marina District. Can walk to great vistas of GG Bridge.
.. not too upscale. Minimal and dated room furnishings. HVAC need updating. A no-frills but great location with parking.

Hotel in good areaPosted Jul 17, 2015
Cons: The amenities in the room
Hotel in good location. Hosts Marshal and Arlene very helpful. Freezer broken, air conditioner didn't work, and in order to work TV someone came up to adjust the wires at night.

Pros: Walking distance to many things
Breakfast is very slim and the parking is about impossible unless you own a smart car. Spots are very small and not enough for the rooms available

A hotel in the neighborhood, not a tourist trap.Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Staff, location, charm.
Location: Polk Street and Van Ness Avenue: Shopping, eating, drinking, nightlife Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown: Same as above but a bit of a walk
If you're looking for the Hilton, look elsewhere—the Castle isn't for you. But if you don't require the (overpriced) luxuries of a high-end hotel, and you're looking for a clean, quiet room right in the neighborhood for a decent price, you'll enjoy the Castle and its staff. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out, our experience at the Castle was great. Desk staff were polite and helpful, advising us on the best ways to get around and where to see the neighborhood highlights. Everything was just as advertised, no hassles, no hidden charges, and our room was clean and welcoming. By hitting up the local grocery nearby and making use of the room's fridge/freezer and microwave, we were able to knock off a good chunk of the food expenses for our trip. The Castle also sits in a fairly central location to lots of walkable (or Uber-able) spots in town, and we felt safe everywhere around the hotel. Covered parking for hotel guests too! All in all, we would go back to the Castle Inn without hesitation. Perfect for anyone who wants to see SF for the first time, or who wants to avoid being stuck in the business/tourist district their whole trip.

Great location to get to Fisherman's Wharf and Golden Gate Bridge by bus/trolley, terrible Wi-Fi. Would definitely stay there again.

Newly renovated downtown hotel near the wharfPosted Jun 28, 2015
Level 1 rooms were recently renovated, new and modern, but the rooms on the 2nd floor were old and outdated. The doors aren't cut too well and we sometimes had trouble opening or closing them. That being said, the hotel was clean and service was not lacking.

Free Parking! Great placePosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Free parking, was able to check in very early, had A/C!
Cons: Hotel was dated but clean. TV was smaller than we would have liked.
Location: Good sandwich shop, Crave close by.
Great experience. Front desk gave us a map of San Francisco and showed us some good places to go. She even showed us the part of town to avoid at night. We were able to check in before 10am since our room was ready and we were able to park our car. Would stay there again without thinking twice.

Walking distance to the PiersPosted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Perfect Clean , friendly and so helpful when asking directions.
