Great Value / Great Location

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Convenience, value, location
Cons: Room décor is outdated, but the hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable
Location: Near the mansions of Russian Hill, walkable to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square or even the Civic Center and Financial District
Its not a 5-star hotel but it is a comfortable and clean hotel with FREE PARKING and in a great LOCATION to see San Francisco. Sure the rooms need updating but it has all the amenities you would need, cable TV, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, nice bed, good sized rooms, etc. The location near Russian Hill is close to many of the city's popular attractions. Free Parking in a covered secure location is hard to find in San Francisco; so park your car, get out and walk to all the attractions the city has to offer!

Tired facade, but GREAT location and staff.

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: 1. Location, location, location... 2. The rooms are a bit tired, but the bed is comfy. 3. Free covered parking!!
Cons: There was an outlet in the room that didn't work, and the wi-fi was a little uneven at first.
We stayed at the Castle for 5 nights in April. The location is perfect for going almost anywhere in the City, not to mention all of the cool stuff within walking distance on Polk St and in Cow Hollow.

castle inn

we reserved two queen beds and got one queen bed. they did not have a room available with queen beds so they gave us a cot. I thought they said they had air conditioning but the windows were the only air conditioning. the staff was very nice and helped us with our questions. the room was close to activities and beach. the bathroom was nice. floor carpet needs to be replaced but the rest of the décor was nice.

We enjoyed our stay

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Location, free parking, friendly staff, room size, quiet
Cons: More parking. However, located where it is, I know that's probably unrealistic.
Location: Close to bus stops, cable car, restaurants, Fisherman's Wharf...lots of tourist sights!
Clean rooms, outer perimeter clean/well kept. Walking distance to restaurants, buses and cable car. Parking was tight, but we managed. The office attendant went out of his way to ensure everyone had a parking spot. However, once we were parked, we didn't risk moving our car until we checked out. It was free, so we were happy. Overall, we were very pleased with our accommodations.

The staff was very helpful.Damon went out of his way to make sure we knew where we were going and mapped it out for us. Rooms were a little outdated but clean. Good location close to Chinatown and Fishermans Warf.

Not fancy but very clean and friendly!

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Clean. The rooms and beding were very clean.
Cons: It could use ugraded decor but it wasn't a big deal
Location: We walked to nicks crispy tacos and really enjoyed the food there.
Me and my husband stayed here for three nights over a long weekend. The guy at the front desk was always helpful and friendly. Our room wasn't fancy but it had all the basics plus a large mini fridge and microwave. It smelled like it had been freshly cleaned and she sheets smelled like fabric sofner. It was close enough to walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go. The area wasn't bad and I didn't feel nervous to walk around at night. For the price its worth checking out.

Hotel downtown. Limited parking.

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Location: We walked to Ghiradelli square from the hotel. It was about 12 blocks.
Hotel was very outdated, although it was clean. Needs an upgrade. We had a 12 passenger van and so parking was limited, but we made it work. Free Breakfast? Packages of oatmeal, granola bars, apple and a yogurt. You get what you pay for.

Rude staff

Posted Feb 10, 2014
My party and I arrived around 1:30 in the morning. The man who checked us in was rude and made it seem like an inconvenience that we were there at all. The continental breakfast was sub par. When we went to get breakfast, the woman manning the desk accused me of checking in under false pretenses. She stayed i booked the room for one person not 3. Completely false!!! Why would one person need two beds?! Then we pointed out that she got me confused with another guest at the hotel and she did not apologize for the mix up. By far the rudest staff i have ever encountered in my travels.
