Seattle Stay

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Cleaning staff did not even replace dirty wash cloths in the bath tub. No mico or small refrig in room. There is the main hotel and five buildings adjacent to main building. I was on blog five. I had to walk outside to get to the main building for any meal or cocktail. My room seemed to be an older room and possibly that is how the rooms are in the adjacent blds.

Nice hotel, very comfortable

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Easy to get on and off the freeway to downtown.
Cons: The sweetner was not replaced for the second morning's coffee in room.
Location: It was easy to get down to the Waterfront and then the monorail to Space Needle.
Very nice hotel, very clean. Only thing that was a bit annoying, no "Do not disturb" Otherwise, all good.

Not Worth It (Especially for Events)

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: The 70's retro feel was kind of cool. The patios on the balconies were neat (though not all that usable in Seattle)
Cons: Prices, Staff Attitude, 70's style but save the 70's smell, food was just so-so.
Location: Things to do nearby? Smell the jet fuel, I suppose.
We had our high school reunion here and they nickle-and-dimed us for everything. The staff was somewhat polite but really seemed like they'd rather be doing something else. Once the bille for the room and the event came through it was apparent that the whole thing was really not worth it. There are too many other places to do an event and/or to stay at where your $ can go a lot further with considerably-better service.

Hanging at The DoubleTree , SeaTac, Washington

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: It is clean and has upscale rooms in the Tower
Cons: It was fine, no suggestions for improvement
Location: Easy access to Airport and LRT to Seattle
On this trip we stayed both in the motel section on a one day layover and later in the Tower section on a three day layover. The Tower was nicer. Did not eat at the hotel but the menu was decent but pricey. Utilized the hotel's free shuttle to the airport to connect to the LRT system that took you into Seattle for $2.75 per trip. Seattle is a beautiful city and a great place to visit. The DoubleTree , SeaTac offers a great hotel with easy access to the Airport and the city.

Problems with Hilton Honors Number

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The people are always accommodating.
Cons: The Phone reservation system
Location: It was at the Seatac airport so not allot to see, but light rail to Seattle is close by.
I was initially put off because with an Expedia booked room I was not able to call the hotel and give them my Hilton Honors number. I asked the Desk attendant why I could not update my reservation over the phone and she did not know why since they used the same information that she was using. I was not angry maybe a little disappointed with the phone operator, but the desk attendant upgraded my room without me asking or complaining. I did not expect or ask for it, but she took the initiative to smooth out any issue that I had. This definitely made my stay much more pleasant.

OK hotel close to SeaTac Airport

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Nice view and nice room. Corridor to the room is not that nice.
Cons: Stop charging for parking! Fix the WiFi so it doesn't constantly turn on and off
Location: Roast house, Denny's , Airport
Stayed for 2 nights, didn't use any facilities. I saw there is a pool on the map but my "wing" was too far away from that. Basically the hotel is laid out like dorms on campus: it has many different parts to it. I stayed in number 5, which is far away at the back of the hotel property. Thankfully I had a car. There is a huge parking lot but they CHARGE for it. My car was $28 for two days, my parking was $50 for two days... Fun!

Worst stay in Washington State

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Nothing. I stayed in 7 hotels in Washington state and this was not only the worst hotel but the most expensive, avoid, avoid, avoid.
Cons: I stayed in rustic cabins in the backwoods of Eastern Washington with faster WIFI that was also free. That would be a nice start.
Location: There is nothing to do here but that is not the problem.
No help with checking in even though we had a large number of bags and hotel is extremely large. Lay out plan is complex and unusual and explanations poor as to where room was. Room was located next to very noisy mechanical room and noise went on all night. Requested towels and did not arrive for 3 hours, required a second phone call. Arrangements to print boarding passes were poor. Those actually in place were not those described in hotel guide in room. Staff were not informed about this at all. Had to phone front desk many times and they usually took about 20 rings to answer. Remember I was trying to print a boarding pass in an airport hotel!
