Grand OLD buildingPosted Sep 16, 2014
In its day would have been a great place but sadly time has past her by. Room was small, last decorated in early 70's, no fridge, no vending machines, pool was closed early just to save the staff a trip down stairs at 10pm the advertised time.

Wonderful trip. Amazing customer servicePosted Sep 3, 2014
Very much a historic hotel but with that also comes amazing customer service. A bell hop greeted is as we pulled up and took all our luggage up to our room as we checked in. Rooms are small but again as long as you understand that it is a historic hotel you should expect that. Room was pretty clean just an oversight on the shower curtain that was changed out immediately so no big deal. The customer service was like I would imagine it be back in the 60's. They has a really nice bonfire Saturday evening and provided s'mores. I kept telling my husband it reminds me of the hotel from dirty dancing but without all the lessons and events. You can park your car and walk from Your room to the brewery, gem and keystone brew pub, pretty much anywhere on site. There is a beautiful pavilion and more than enough park benches to sit relax and enjoy the beautiful delaware river. They also have canoes and kayaks to rent. I think they also have river rafting tours. Very nice place and I hope to be bringing my sons back with is next time!!

Enjoyable, comfortable stay.Posted Aug 20, 2014
The resort reminds me of the movie dirty dancing, it has the same vibe and looks like something time over looked. The facilities are well kept but a bit out dated which didn't bother me one bit. I'd definitely return.

Perfect Getaway experiencePosted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: The old elegance and historical nature of the place.
Cons: Why improve what is already perfect?
Location: Situated on the Delaware River and nestled in towering mountains, the Shawnee is what you'd expect from the great old hotels of the early 20th century
My partner and I enjoy simple and elegant places to stay. We were so thrilled with the ambiance and relaxing atmosphere here at the Shawnee. We were made to feel special and welcomed. We kept saying being here was like being in the 40s and 50s when people were content with just enjoying the place and being treated with friendly staff and other visitors.

Charming hotel with beautiful viewsPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: I really liked the feel of this hotel. It is a grand old place, charming, beautifully landscaped - and still had many things for a family to do!
Location: Quiet location a few miles off of the main road. Close to Bushkill Falls, local hiking trails, and ski resorts.
My family (including 2 teenage boys) booked this hotel last minute and we got much more than we could have hoped for. The hotel is a beautiful old building with a wrap around veranda, rocking chairs, and a grand lawn that leads to the river. When we arrived it was market day, with local vendors, food tents, and an evening concert. There are three options for dining on the property, tennis, golf, water activities on the river, and a beautiful indoor pool. Everyone was very friendly - even at 7:30 in the morning when I took my coffee onto the veranda to watch the mist on the river! If you are looking for sleek, modern conveniences - this might not be your place. But if you want a relaxing stay, with multiple options for activities and dining - the Shawnee Inn would be a great choice.

Beautiful setting, old-world charmPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Loved the atmosphere, charm and serenity.
Cons: Bathrooms are a little outdated, but still clean and functional.
Location: Great golfing, rafting on the Delaware, summer-stock theater, fun shopping.
Set on lush green lawns, overlooking the serene Delaware River, this was just a relaxing and enjoyable place to spend a few days. The staff was very attentive and accommodating and, although small, the rooms were very pleasant and well appointed.
