Excellent hotel, excellent valuePosted Oct 5, 2014
Location: Everything was within a 20 minute walk.
Our room was spacious, quiet. Hotel staff all spoke English and were very helpful. Breakfast was included and was varied and good. This was our nicest hotel in almost 2 weeks in Italy and we were very impressed. The wifi worked well in our room (unusual for Italy!). The train station was less than a 20 minute walk away. Excellent value for the price!

Close to town centre and beachPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Pleasant staff, access to local areas, clean everywhere, safe, reasonable price.
Cons: Free access to spa and swimming pool. Have the pool open in August. Directions to the hotel from the main road. Tea and coffee facilities in the rooms
Location: As above. Excellent location.
Three of my family stayed at this hotes/hostel (definitely a hotel!) in August 14 and found it to be in an excellent spot for access to the beach (5-10 mins) and to the local shops (5 mins). The train station where you can go to Naples, Herculaneum and Pompeii for about 4-5 euros return is about 15-20 mins away. You can get a bus from here to Naples airport and vice versa for 10 euros and takes an 1.5 hours-absolute bargain. The hotel is not perfect (is any?) but for the price is an absolute bargain. It is clean and safe, the staff friendly and informative and breakfasts very substantial for 10 euros as much as you want (toast, rolls, scrambled egg, ham, cheese, wide range of fruit, a variety of freshly baked cakes daily and tea/coffee etc. There is an evening bar with comfy chairs and use of the gym/spa at reduced rates (5 euros I think) as well as a massage room and swimming pool (closed in August!) at reduced rates. Rooms have there own safes and towels changed/beds made daily. The hotel is tiled throughout such that any noise is exaggerated, some rooms noisier than others and our room, 105, seemed to have the waste/water pipes next to it as it was quite loud at times. All in all, the positives far outweighed the negatives and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Location & StaffPosted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Great location with less than 2 minutes from the centre of town and about 10 minute from the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: The hotel has a car park on the roof can produce noise. Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be helpful. No views available from rooms
Location: Beach is 10 minute walk and town centre within 2 minutes
The first room we were provided with was had noise from the car park above the hotel. It was also relatively dark as the window was in one corner. The staff moved us into another room which attracted less noise from the car park and was much brighter with two windows.

Family of four trip.Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Great full buffet breakfast. Lots of fruit available which was unusual for us to find in Italy. Beautiful bathrooms.
Cons: Poor wifi. Good signal strength but poor bandwidth so internet didn't work or was painfully slow when a lot of guests are using it.
Location: Close to Marina Grande and their seaside restaurants. Easy walk to everything in Sorrento.
This is a great hotel. I asked the staff why it was named a hostel instead of a hotel. They apparently have two dormitories and the hotel was built seven years ago but had to be called a hostel because of licensing regulations. It is one of the nicer hotels that we stayed in while in Italy. We booked a quad room with four beds but they upgraded us to a two bedroom unit for no extra charge. Very clean and quiet. Beautiful marble floors in the lobby. Front desk staff were excellent and helped book a tour of Capri for us.

Better than most three star hotelsPosted Jul 25, 2014
My father and I have just returned following a 5 day stay in Sorrento. The hostel, the rooms, the staff, the breakfast, the whole experience was fantastic. We had a single room each, with a double bed. The room was cleaned everyday, new towels, beds made, the service was excellent. We stayed room only so purchased breakfast each day. Breakfast opened at 7am, allowing for lots of early starts. It consisted of the usual cooked meats, breads, cakes, fresh fruit etc. It was worth the 10 euro charge. You could return to the buffet as many times as it took to full yourself up. The hostel is within easy walking distance from the local bus/train station, about 10/15 mins. The reception staff provide a warm, friendly welcome and provide excellent service.

Great StayPosted Jul 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Ulisse Deluxe Hostel is a great place to stay. They do have some hostel dorm rooms available, but also have regular hotel rooms. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the train station, though you could take a taxi, if you have a lot of bags. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. They recommended tours, restaurants etc. There is a spa and fitness center attached which could be done for an extra charge during open hours. The included breakfast had a wide selection and the pastries were great. Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel (for that is really what it is....not a Hostel) is well located......some 15-20 minutes walk from the station, although it takes a little longer if pulling a suitcase. 10 mins walk down to the Marina Grande (nice restaurants), and to centre of Old Sorrento, and its many shops and restaurants. Room and bathroom were large, clean and kept tidy. Reasonably good continental breakfast, with the usual fare on offer in the very colourful breakfast room. Car parking was a little challenging, given the (lack of) space in the hotel parking garage, and expensive, at €15 per night. Front Desk Staff friendly, and helpful, although room cleaning staff removed soaps after one use. Such a waste!
