Although it was a short stay at this time, I had a great time at the hotel. I would like to choose this hotel again in the next trip.

Disappointed

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: Everything listed in the above paragraph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location: nothing to see or do not any good restaurant's, three very small taverns, no sightseeing.
We ate dinner, my wife's chicken was as hard as a rock couldn't cut through it. Ceiling tiles were all discolored from water. Room was nosey & water stains on the wall from air conditioning. We were charged an extra $17.92 for amenities that we did not use. We ate dinner, breakfast, & utilized both bars. It was not like we weren't spending any money there. We feel the charge of $17.92 was unfair. If we wanted to use the sauna we couldn't have because they didn't supply bath robes like most resorts do. We checked in at 4:00 pm & checked out at 10:00 am. the room charge with tax was $132.48 Plus $17.92 =$150.40. We could have stayed @ less expensive hotel for what we needed it which we would have if we known. I feel we should have been warned by Expedia that there would have been extra charge. There was absolutely nothing at all to see or do in the town of Safety Harbor. We also feel that Expedia should reimbursed us for the $17.92.

Great place. The tiki bar and pool looked cool although the weather wasnt ideal. The staff helped us find things to do in the area since it was raining. I also was easily assisted when I wanted to upgrade the room.

5 Nights Stay

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: spacious rooms
Cons: no hidden fees!! uodate the look and get the musty smell out
Location: Location is nice. Small cute town. everything closes early but thats ok. no real beach area at the hotel but Clearwater beach is close and real nice
I booked through expedia and was surprised when we arrived that there was an additional charge of approx sixteen a day for the spa. This wasnt an option and of course I could change hotels even if i wanted to at that point. Hidden fees are no way to start the conversation. The room was nice and spacious. The hotel in most areas had a musty smell to it. It is an old and dated building. The pan flute, spa music playing throughout the entire hotel was disturbing after 5 days of it.

Not the friendliest staff or the best rooms

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: The pool was really great! Open late, plenty of towels and chairs for everyone.
Cons: Ensure your reservation is correct and make sure people get side-by-side rooms if needed. I'm glad it wasn't my kids that needed to be next to me.
Location: The town has some interesting shops (that closes super early and not open on the weekends). Fresh resturant is the best!! Not many bars around.
We stayed here for 3 nights, 4 days. The hotel is about 20 miles from the airport and a $17 Uber ride. The hotel is not beachfront and Safety Harbor is no where near St. Petes or Clearwater or Tampa (on a map, it looked like it was close to those places). Upon arrival at 10pm, there was one person at the desk and no customers. I had issues checking in because I booked two rooms under two different names with the same credit card. We had asked to be housed next to each other and we were on different floors. The hotel is a historical marker and looks great from the outside and the pool area was fantastic! Plenty of chairs and towels to go around for everyone. No outside bar though. The hotel was difficult to navigate around. Our room was a big size but it was humid upon arrival. We lowered the AC to 68 degrees. it didn't help. Our TV didn't work nor did our mini-fridge. We went the the hotel bar where one bartender was working. The room is small about only about 15 people in the place. It closes at midnight. It literally took us a good 15-20 minutes to get served, and people were constantly leaving because they were tired of waiting. Unfortunately, the same bartender was working the whole time we were staying there. Recommend you find somewhere else to stay for your money. We spent most of our time out by Indian Shore Clearwater which is where we will be staying on our next visit.

Great get away for relaxing

Wonderful time. Love the town and people. Hotel a little dated but the setting and amenities more than make up for any downside.
