Fabulous apartment (though not near beach)

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Enormous space, contemporary design, private pool, balcony views, peace and quiet. Convenient to get around IF you have rented your own vehicle.
Cons: Stovetop did not work all the time. Also, suggest management reply more readily to email--before arriving, I only received a response after calling.
Location: On the east coast. Quiet, rural, picturesque, but NOT close to anything by foot. If you want to leave the hotel, or sit on a beach, rent a vehicle!
Stayed for 5 nights in Feb. 2014 with 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 3-8). We booked on the late side, so our first choices (west-coast beach resorts) were all full. However, what we gave up in terms of beachside location was made up for by the incredible size and condition of our (3-bedroom) apartment. 'Apartment' may be an understatement: what we found was a 3-story villa with carport, full kitchen, private courtyard and swimming pool. (Each unit shared a wall with only one other next door.) The townhouse was spotless and sleekly designed, like something out of a design catalog. The only downside of this is that the hard edges and many stairs are not designed to be friendly for very young kids; also the distance between each of the 3 bedrooms (one of which is on the third level) is great for privacy, not so great for hearing whether or not the kids cry at night. But the private pool is a big plus for the little ones. Breakfast was a short walk away, as was the enormous and beautiful common swimming pool (also including shallow kid-pool zones of 2 different depths.) The balconies had spectacular ocean views. However, the main two potential drawbacks are: 1) The east-coast location is very remote; if we had not rented a car, it would have been tough getting anywhere else. Perfect if you want peace and quiet, though! 2) No beach anywhere close: The ocean is yards away, but consists of tidal flats, not sand. If neither of those is a deal-breaker, Baan Yamu comes highly recommended

Nice Quiet Area

Need a car to get around there. Nice quiet area. Lack of facilities like Spa. Nearby Beach is muddy not for swimming as it is on the west coast. Driving to Surin Beach is about 30mins.

A magical place ... very relaxing

Posted Feb 20, 2012
Pros: The apartments and most of all the pool
Absolutely gorgeous ... the rooms are beautiful (we had a two bedroom, two storey apartment). The hotel has one awards for the designs and you can clearly see why they have won. The pool was the main attraction. It is just like a postcard picture! Large pool and not at all crowded. The staff were lovely, the food was also good (reasonably priced for a hotel) and the cocktails we very much enjoyed! The resort is perfect if you want a relaxing holiday. You can do day trips to Surin Beach and Patong. Lastly the spa at the resort s also worth a visit or two (it is also reasonaly priced). We will def. be holidaying here again.

Peace & Quiet Found

Posted Jan 30, 2012
Pros: Quiet, Clean, Spacious & Courteous Staff
Cons: The mosquitoes at dinner. They were hungrier than we were.
Location: The resort is away from the maddening crowds of the Patong Area. Cape Yamu is a rural area and beautiful.
I booked my reservations for the next day which was Chinese New Year. In other words, almost every hotel/resort in Phuket was booked full. The resort far exceeded our expectations. First off, it's quiet-very quiet. The pool is huge. The resort upgraded us for free to a penthouse suite: 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen, a jacuzzi patio. The suite must have been about 1500 square feet. Simply beautiful. The resort is not on the beach, but we didn't care. You can walk 2 minutes to a pier and hire a long tale boat to take you to a couple of small islands about a 15 minute boat ride away. We hope to make Club Yamu an annual tradition. Quiet, Quiet, and more Quiet. If you want action, then stay away. This is not your place. But if you want peace and quiet at a small, modern resort then this is it. The staff was very pleasant.
