4 day weekend

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: For the most part the staff were pleasant and helpful when informed about the issues.
Cons: They need to up grade the halls and walls ceiling with paint and the exterior of the building. It is very dated and tired looking.
The hotel looks better on line than in person. We arrived late and checked in, the room was clean but tired looking they have up dated some of the features the carpet, paint, the tubs need work and the windows need replacing. They did not tell us that the access door to our wing was broke and we had to walk around to the main entrance to access our room. The block the phones and if you make local calls they charge 1.00 but we did not find mention of this any where. The dinning room was quiet and the food came out call and the rib eye steak I had was very fatty. The staff were nice and helped once advised on the issues. The rooms were priced at reasonable per night and I now know why. On future visits I will not be staying. The hotel did not meet the expectations expressed on its site. But it is indeed a buyer beware situation and the saying of if its too cheap there must be something wrong comes to mind. If you are looking for price and no comforters then this hotel will suit that requirement.

Hotel was average overall

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and beautiful looking lobby.
Cons: The rooms need to be renovated as the doors are in rough shape and the carpeting needs to be replaced in the halls and probably the rooms.
Location: Bowling alley, nearby restaurants and close access to the airport. A really good location to get to other parts of the city.
The hotel was okay. It definitely shows its age and needs a serious renovation to the carpets in the halls, as well as the doors and bathroom in the rooms themselves. The staff was excellent though, friendly and outgoing. While I do recommend the hotel for others, please don't have high expectations. The room was affordable (Did the Expedia special rate deal), but does need overall improvements. A hotel that is this old would do itself well to spend some money to upgrade, the place should have no problem increasing the number of satisfied people and increased business if they enhanced the experience.

An absolute dump but with pleasant staff.

Room was dirty and dingy. The only thing going for this place is it's proximity to the airport.

Not what we expected.

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Pool was clean and a very nice size...9 ft deep!
Cons: Major renovations. Hot tub in the pool area needs a major steam cleaning. Did not dare go in it.
Location: Location was convenient for our purpose, there to help our child settle in to the local University.
A very dated building in desperate need of a face lift inside and out. More like a Motel than a Hotel. Our first impression when pulling into the parking lot was not favourable. The room was OK size wise and cleanliness, but showing its age. The walls are fairly thin or not well insulated as we could hear our neighbours using the washrooms.

Relatively cheap place to stay near airport

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Cheaper than others in the area. Clean room. Good pool.
Cons: Ugly, run down decor. Needs a reno.
Stay here if your main objective is to save money. If not, then go somewhere else. Good points: it was significantly cheaper than other hotels near the airport. The room was reasonably clean. The pool was a decent size for a hotel. Bad points: the general decor is in disrepair. It looks like everything is from the 70s. Paint is chipping. Carpets are old, run down. Restaurant menu more like something you'd find at a truck stop; go down the street for better choices.

Close to the Airport

Could use some updating. Enamel was worn off the sink, hole in arm chair. Hot tub didn't work. Pool was nice.

Checking In was a chore in itself. First I was told there was an extra 50 dollar deposit? Then when I said I would like to pay cash the deposit then jumped to 150 dollars but in reality charged me 148.82 for a deposit? The room was outdated and smelled of cigar smoke with yellow stained lamp shades and stains on the blanket. The topper was the phone was not working so I had to use my cell and pay roaming long distance charges just to order a pizza. It was the worst. Only one step up from sleeping in my car!

It is not a hotel.

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Cons: Take it down and build another one.
This is a motel with a nice entrance. Unfortunately doors dont open automatically, so I had to struggle with getting my bags through the door. Receptionist wasn't friendly and was visibly annoyed by my question about a student discount. Then she told me that keys are not working and generally wasn't friendly. She walked me to my room wich was clean, but worned out and smelly. Wi Fi didn't work. Room looked very dingy . I think that this place is overpriced. Wouldn't stay there ever again and wouldn't recommend it to a friend. The only good thing is that they have a shuttle to the airport.

Big disappointment

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: It had a pool and I liked the second vanity with sink in the room.
Cons: They could train their housekeepers to do a thorough job. When staying multiple nights, more than just emptying garbage is required.
Location: Shopping and restaurants very nearby. Major shopping area only a few minutes away.
From housekeeping staff who left wet towels behind and didnt refull cups, soap or bathroom tissue, to a cook at breakfast that messed up more than once and a dining room staffed by one overworked waitress for ten or more tables as well as room service, to an unrenovated wing that had crunchy carpet and water stains on ceiling and lamp shades, I'd say I was deeply disappointed in this entire experience.
