Great Spot for A Quiet Get Away!

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Take advantage of the morning pastries and coffee. Not to mention the restaurant at night. We had a wonderful Crab Dinner on Friday night?
Location: We hiked the Rainforest and walked the beach mainly. We spent time in town and hit some local restaurants. Wolf in The Fog was nice as was Shelter.
We really enjoyed this place. The staff are spot on. Helpful but not bothersome. Our room was cozy, quiet and had a wonderful view.

Pros: have been coming for many years for all the reasons indicated above
Cons: liked the previous brand of toiletries....but undestand the need to keep costs down
Location: Quiet, off the beaten track a definite plus.Tofino has some good restaurants, galleries, high end casual clothes,& also caters for kayak/surfer
Spectacular scenic location, dinner excellent, ( though wine relatively expensive), tasteful rustic ambience, enjoyed the cosy fire in the hearth, also a healthy breakfast Nice to be able to have tea or coffee anytime

Nice hotel on the beach - great for walks

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: soaker tub in cabin was nice.
Cons: dog towels, dog bowl, dog bed - paying $40 for the dog to stay and there was just the hose by the beach to help with cleaning.
Location: beach walks, close to Tofino
Our first room (condo type) was too small for the 5 of us. we were upgraded for an extra cost to a full kitchen/more beds cabin. Dog friendly and there was a hose by the beach for cleaning - towels for the dog and a dog bed would have been added bonus.

Attractive hotel and close to the beach.

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The lounge was lovely. I was able to take my dog.
Cons: It would be nice if there was an outside faucet where I could wash my dog down after coming in from a walk on the sandy beaches.
Location: Location is excellent
Had a very pleasant stay there. Very quiet and peaceful.

closet sized room

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: was on the beach even if you had to stand on something for a good view of the ocean
Cons: rooms poorly designed, not enough staff , not enough basic amenities, tear it down and start over
Location: lots of beaches to walk at long beach
room was 24 inches bigger than the bed, patio was size of a table, no ice, insufficient staff ,incomplete rainwear. have had better stays at other places for 3/4 of the price

Great getaway spot!

Great location to getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life! Situated between two beaches, you have your pick of spots to enjoy the outdoors. The resort is also close to the beaches for surfing and to the town centre.

True West Coast experience

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Location, scenery, friendly and open staff, comfortable and welcoming lounge. Close to Tofino shops, but not too close.
Cons: It would have been nice to have dinner at the Lodge, but I know the off-season and the early week booking probably precluded that.
Location: Walk the beaches. Some great coffee places. The Wolf in the Fog restaurant is absolutely fabulous (seaweed salad is great.)
What a wonderful location and experience. I have wanted to stay at the Lodge for almost 15 years, but circumstances have conspired against me. When I had to go to Tofino on business, I jumped at the chance to stay and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed walking in the distinctive wind-sculpted west coast forest on my way to the beaches on either side of the rock outcropping upon which is nestled the lodge. The roar of the surf, the uniqueness of the trees and crystal clear skies (not unusual for January and February, I am told) created an enduring memory. The hotel staff were wonderful. Very open to chatting about the lodge, the area and why they have come to be in such a beautiful spot. The breakfast was exactly right and the setting -- watching the brightening sky over the pounding surf -- gave me both energy and enthusiasm for what the day would bring. My room in the Lodge was very comfortable and had a wonderful view to the southeast over Mackenzie Beach. The all-wood lodge has a comfortable 'lived-in' feel, much like my own timber frame home, and the lounge area with the warmth of the fire was a great place to relax, read my book and watch the day end. I will be back, next time with someone to share it with.

Not what you think

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: The open lounge area
Cons: Double the size of the rooms and put in better facilities (fridge, TV, storage)
Location: Need a car. Not close to anything and not much to do in Tofino. Half the town is surf shops.
Stayed 2 nights. Rooms look reasonable on website but no fridge, no TV, no cupboards for clothes. Rooms are smallest I have ever seen, had to slide suitcases under bed as no room to keep them anywhere else. Even had to put chair outside room as could not move around it. Curtains did not cover the full width of the window. Tofino is not in a direct travel route so takes a long drive to get there and frankly, I don't think it is worth the effort.
