Convenience of hotel shuttle

Pros: Very helpful staff, quiet, comfortable, and good internet.
Cons: I think breakfast options could possibly be improved.
Location: Use the shuttle and the skytrain
The drivers were polite and very helpful. The convenience of the shuttle to and from the hotel meant the Airtrain was in easy reach, as was central Van Couver, even though the hotel is situated outside the city.

Decent hotel in Richmond, BC

We checked in a bit early, which is always nice. Expedia got it right with the pet-friendly room (to be honest, I was a little worried we'd get there and find we did NOT have a pet-friendly room, but we did). $10/night extra for us to bring our dog seems pretty reasonable. The room and hotel itself were fairly clean and nice looking on the inside. Parking seemed somewhat limited and it was located right near the highway (though we didn't seem to have too much noise in our room). We stayed here for our visit to Vancouver and it was pretty well located for that -outside the hustle and bustle but not too far!

Newly renovated hotel near the airport.

Pros: Friendly, competent staff. Clean rooms and hotel in general. Water, coffee and apples in the lobby. Pet friendly.
Location: Basically this is an airport hotel with not a lot around it except for other hotels and Costco.
The hotel takes pets but I didn't mention this when I booked the room through Expedia. We showed up with the dog and the front desk employee had no problem with her being there. He found us one of their dog friendly rooms on the first floor. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our 2 day stay. The hotel had fresh cold water ,coffee and lovely apples for guests in the lobby. These were replenished regularly. The room was clean and nicely decorated . There is a Moxies associated with the hotel. Not the cheapest place for breakfast but there is a A&W across the road which serves breakfast. You do need a car if you stay here for any length of time as the hotel is not close to shopping, restaurants etc.

room airconditioner did not work, it actually flooded the corner, toilet ran all night long unless water was actually shut off, could not change rooms as it was sold out. very dated

Pros: Moxie's is located at the Hotel!!!
Close to the airport- Tim Horton's nearby and a liquor store down the street in walking distance

Pros: Friendly and knowledgable staff...close to alot of amenities!
Cons: better communication with Expedia and always always always have a spare room for such incidents or offer another room or credit thereof !
Location: shopping.. eating... Dollar Store.... !
after booking room through Expedia.... quite disappointed that check in time was not available to me as promissed a smoking room with 2 queen size beds....when I came to the Sandman office upon arriving to Richmond B.C. found that room was still occupied and the person had asked for an extension??? No smoking rooms where available .....left in the dark .....flight back was to leave early next morning... phoned back to The Sandman 2 hours later@ 6:00 p.m. told that no rooms available but could be put on the 5th floor...where no smoking was allowed....??? whose fault??? not sure but Expedia and Sandman should always be on the same page.....not acceptable to me and very unappropriate when finaly was given what might have been an overflow room in smoking...2 double beds only and not much room to move or sit as only 1 chair !!?? The staff at the Sandman were very accomodating and nice......but I felt very uncomfortable and not the way a last evening of a holiday to BC should be remembered. Liz Tarasoff~

Pros: close to the airport, friendly staff
Cons: Sofa bed quite uncomfortable, hotel itself "worn out"
stayed for one night in early July and the room (West facing) was very hot, could not regulate cooling below 20 degrees Celcius although the fan was on. Originally, booked 1 room with two double beds but was offered a suite for same price, which was nice. King size bed was ok but almost filled the space - "bedroom" separated from living room by a galley kitchenette only. No door. Overall, tight space for a family of four if staying longer. Ok for late arrivals & early departures in a pinch. will try a different hotel next time.
